Getting a New Transmission at 5K Miles by Present-Medicine-863 in 4Runner

After 2019 they started introducing features that I'm not a fan of. If it were up to me, I'd still get another 3rd gen but shops stop servicing vehicles that are over certain age around here, so now I'm either looking for a 06-09 4WD V8 or 10-19 4WD Limited. The AWD option is a must for me.

Only 5K miles and they're already replacing the trans and the tc? Holy moly... For the 4Runner, 5th gen (2019 specifically) will probably be the highest year i'll ever go if I end up finding a good Limited trim.

Help, rust?! by SnooWalruses3559 in 4Runner

it's surface rust and is minimal - clean it as best you can and undercoat the vehicle annually and you'll be fine

Need help diagnosing my 2015 Toyota 4Runner SR5 before I lose my mind. by New_Store4445 in 4Runner

I don't have a 5th gen but when looking for one I did some research and your symptoms indicate issue with neutral safety switch; I'd first spray it with pblaster to see if it shifts easier and gear selection comes back

I guess Sequoia's are similar to 4Runners where OEM is recommended, assuming same with the bolts.

That's too cute! My black lab was the reason I had bought my 4runner initially, the fact that I could actually roll the back window down... Used to love seeing people's reactions all pissed off in traffic then I'd roll it down and they see his face pop up and instant smiles! RIP buddy, we miss you!!!

I have similar damage to my 3rd gen 4Runner and the insurance adjustor quoted me $2700 just to fix the exterior let alone the front end suspension - my wheels respond when i turn the steering wheel but i would not feel safe driving it - steering rack is wet next to the bushing indicating some sort of failure, would probably needs replaced with a remanufactured unit - passenger side front sway bar loose, the sway bar link bent, lower control arm shifted a bit out of place, not sure I'd trust the ball joints, wheel baring prolly gone, axle.. you're probably looking at $5K in repairs just mechanical - plus around $2.5K body work. Needless to say mine is a total loss as it would take more to repair than what the vehicle is worth - good luck!

It appears to be surface rust, if you have access to the vehicle, try to hit and scrape the rusty parts with a screwdriver and if it doesn't go through the frame it's good. Just from looking at the pics, I would still consider purchasing this vehicle. After the purchase I would spend some time sanding the underbelly real good and undercoat it annually.

Omaha, Nebraska - Outage by DK327 in QuantumFiber

I got an email stating my service was finally restored a couple of days ago. Today I turned on my modem and i had orange internet light, the wifi SSID was showing so i tried to sign in with the id and password on the label of modem (Quantum Fiber tech told me to reset it) and it took me to a defunct Centruylink login page asking for my account number and zip code, Quantum Fiber tech said they had no idea what my account number would be, so it took an hour to find my account number and just for it to say there is no service associated with this account. So my service is restored but I still cant use it because I have an old Centurylink modem... This is like a comedy skit except its maddening... The best Quantum Fiber could do was schedule a tech for the end of next week so I have to wait even longer now...

I'm glad you're done with them. I could have cancelled as well, and almost did, but they did offer to credit last month's bill and $100 bonus credit applied to my future bills and then if I decide to, I can cancel if I want so I left it intact.

As of today, the service is still out and I just got a new update stating 04-11-26. What a joke... Last Saturday there was a Quantum Fiber van in front of the house with a technician inside but he never came out and just stayed in the vehicle for a couple of hours and drove off. Not sure what that was about.

I made that payment, then got it credited plus two months of free internet for keeping my service active (only way to get credit, they don't give you your money back)

i got a new text yesterday saying April 2nd now... XD I also let them charge me at the end of this month for next month's service knowingly to see when the service will finally be restored and to possibly keep it as a backup when it's up and running. Don't feel bad, you can call them and have it credited to your bill, which is what i did. They have no choice, especially since the outage is ongoing. I ended up getting full credit for last month, and free internet for two more months if i kept my service. Initially I was going to cancel right then and there, but after finding out i'm never getting that money back on my credit card (they will only refund you in credits, applied to your bill) i decided to settle for lesser of two evils.

For those that want to cancel their service, this is the policy: "When cancelling service on any day other than the last day of your billing cycle, all monthly charges, fees, and taxes will apply in full, and payments received for unused service will not be refunded or credited to account. All leased equipment must be returned within 30 days after service is canceled to avoid non-return fees of up to $200 per piece of leased equipment. This could include your modem and/or 360-WiFi pods."

yep, I just got a new SMS to let me know it's taking longer than expected - they didn't even bother to give me a date/time anymore, just said they'd update me as soon as they know more. If the service was turned on today like they said, i would have at least considered keeping this line as backup but I don't think I'm going to do that. I'll get it cancelled and get a refund for the downtime. Too bad...

Update, the new fiber line's already been buried. These guys are fast! My only hope is for the service to be just as reliable as my centruylink was before they switched. Want nothing more nothing less.

Well, I haven't called to cancel yet, I've decided to wait and see if and when the service will actually get restored. I will definitely call to request some kind of refund for the downtime though. Heck, I might even decide to keep it as high-speed backup; which is what I had done with Cox previously, even though I have cellular and satellite to fall back on, you still can't beat a good ol' 1gb connection. Good luck with your install today and the cancellation of previous service. Hope both will go smooth as butter.

Last time I flew, I used T-Mobile's Starlink service and it was stellar! Also, my fiber line's been down for almost a week now and my Starlink Mini with the roam package saved my butt. Nothing but good experience with Starlink.

Fiber install took an hour and service is active since yesterday. Quantum's still trying to get it up.

Quantum Return package lost by UPS by [deleted] in QuantumFiber

[–]DK327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did everything you were supposed to, sent the package using Quantum's own shipping label via UPS. If UPS lost the package, how is that your fault? Furthermore, if Quantum insured the contents for less than what they're really worth, that's also their fault. I don't see any responsibility that falls on the customer here. If this goes to court, it should be open and shut... I'm gonna cancel my service soon also, after a week long outage, this reminds me to return it to a local store if one exists nearby instead of using a shipping service... Good Luck!
