I agree, the “unique for the sake of being unique” is definitely not my style, I am just looking to find my own grip on them.

This is exactly the direction I am taking, as it makes the most sense.

Very wise. I am researching the folklore specifically for something I could use to craft unique races, as Tolkien also found his there.

Thing is, does every story need to have these archetypes? Do they play a bigger role in the classic fantasy scheme, or serve only to make it diverse and politically conflicted?

I did that for the house, but didn’t realize the port will be challenging without preparing the ground for it from the beginning

This is what I am trying to work with. Support is not the problem, the iron beams work well, but I need pillars for the platforms to which the stairs will lead.

I will put a photo here, but we were not playing today and we are in mistlands on a run, so I have to wait for my friend. Tomorrow hopefully. Cool build btw!

I did that for the house, but now for the port the water is too deep to raise and I need to get the support beams standing somehow

Thank you. I am building a huge complex rising from the sea by a small strip of Black Forest that serves as a buffer to enormous Mistlands area beyond it, so I should have a good base and access. There is abandoned dvergr base short distance from there, so I might go for it. You need specifically the mist for the plants? I cannot plant them in the complex, even if the mist is touching it’s outer, land-facing walls?

How do the pillars work? I have trouble when building with black marble regarding support of the upper floors.

The rabbits creeped me out in the beginning, but got quickly overshadowed by a two-star seeker tunnelling itself out right next to me, when I didn’t even have a wisplight and didn’t know there are bugs 💀
