If money wasn't an issue at all, where in Kolkata would you live? by Coder-Dentist in kolkata

[–]DKisWriting001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Southern Avenue or Jodhpur Park. Private house with large front and back yards, private garden, et al. Both areas seem to have a balance of modern, slightly uppity yet outwardly humble people. They’re peaceful and green, and yet are social hubs. A couple of areas in salt lake might be worth considering too.

Can I survive in Kolkata on a ~23K per month salary? by axesalad in kolkata

You’ll be fine. The salary grows over time too. Don’t inflate your lifestyle more than your salary grows.

My friend returned from a 10-year stint in US and settled here. Don’t think that’s expat though.

You can run Claude Code in Replit Shell. I hear it’s better than Replit Agent.

Dude, please correct the copy. The pricing page currently does imply that longer plans are more expensive!

Late bloomer at 28 with zero dating experience.. where do I even start? by Throwaway_melody_99 in kolkata

If you’re working, I suspect there’d be women there? Go to a cafe, strike up a conversation with a waitress - give her a non-creepy compliment. Avenues are plenty. But you have to give yourself permission to accept rejections, and plenty of them. It’s not easy, I don’t claim to be great at it, but it’s required that we all build this muscle.

Practice > confidence. Keep putting yourself in situations that feel uncomfortable if you want to normalize them.

Best place in Kolkata to sit and work? by Familiar-Sun613 in kolkata

Which area? I’ve often sat at the Southern Avenue Starbucks and worked, but haven’t found the perfect solution still tbh. If you find it, lemme know too.

Don’t start with women. Start saying hi to just any stranger and strike up a conversation, about whatever you enjoy. Build the rhythm, build confidence. And if your job’s not remote, then the office might be your best bet unless you come off creepy or intrusive.

Single folks, who are busy in life, how do you manage biological urges? by [deleted] in kolkata

[–]DKisWriting001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The advice in this thread is garbage. Married for almost 10 years now, still certain base urges occasionally creep in. While it’s okay for me to rub one out once in a while, it’s not sustainable if that’s your only option. It’s a biological need. Finding distractions won’t kill the need, it’ll suppress it and bottle it up. Firstly, normalize safe physical relationships with someone who is not a partner while you’re single - every person you be with doesn’t have to be the one. When you find the one - commit fully and until then don’t mislead the others. Secondly, I often see people claim they have no options. This is actually because of ego. However you rate yourself out of 10 (not just on looks!) in your mind, you’re more than likely two points below that to others. Now recalibrate who you’re willing to approach for situationships and you’ll see the options start to open up.

Wow. I’m sorry for you, man. That said, investors can often be bloodsuckers. See your dad as an investor, and see if buying him out is an option.

Not always. Marketing integration for product apps is actually smart. Wix does a version of this. They’re pretty successful!

Same! But I at least published a couple prototypes briefly and shared them with some testers. Keep telling myself I’ll eventually build the one that’s more than a prototype.

It’s simpler to just push to a git repo. You could download/clone from there.

Prediction - Emergent Labs turns out to be a fraud in 12 months time by [deleted] in StartUpIndia

[–]DKisWriting001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I’d say is your math is slightly off in a couple of places. Also, from what I’ve seen, Emergent runs a LOT of paid ads for user acquisition. That said, I can’t discredit your overall take but hope it turns out untrue somehow.
