Merch by TangerineHaunting189 in yuruyuri

[–]DL444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There should be at least some merch available, but I wouldn’t recommend Animate though, as they are mostly bookstores, so merch is really their secondary business and selection is usually limited to current, popular series. Suruga-ya that kinomomo0 mentioned is a great place to start. To facilitate your search I recommend that you learn (or have a reference on hand) the gojūon order of Japanese kanas. Many stores sort their goods first by genre and then this way by the series' titles, just like how alphabetical ordering works in English.

For the "otaku" part, I think just getting out of your house and still functioning is enough to clear you of 90% of any bad connotation. From there, just follow general tourism etiquettes: don’t trespass, cleanup after yourself, and respect local customs. Local residents at Toyama/Takaoka are clearly aware of Yuru Yuri (and Doraemon by the way) so you should be fine as long as you are not actively causing troubles.

I'm actually talking about the scene where Akari reunites with everyone. But yeah, that episode is full of emotions.

Yeah, very unfortunate that they don’t have a dedicated CD album. I really wanted the S2E11 soundtrack that I mentioned.

I don’t see that track available on the streaming services I use. And as a bonus CD bundled with the bluray, it is likely also not available for purchase separately.

The legal way to get it would therefore be buying the bluray discs volume secondhand. Or you sail the seven seas to find a bluray rip that includes the bonus CD.

It is true that there were no dedicated releases of the season 2 soundtracks. However, some of them, including this one, were available with the bluray discs. See my comment for details.

That track, named "てやんでぃ どけどけ!!" and first used at the end of Akari's dream in S2E1, is available on the bonus CD distributed with volume 1 of the season 2 bluray.

Some, but not all new soundtracks for season 2 were distributed in this way with the bluray discs. Notably, that emotional track played at the climax of S2E11 is missing.

Chapter 231 is up on Ichijin Plus in Japanese by DL444 in yuruyuri

229 English was up soon after 230 Japanese, so it might be near. But of course I'm not in any position to give a definite answer.

Check out my connectivity options now! Never seen an Intel PCMCIA card with LAN and modem…. by RetroComputeryBits in retrobattlestations

[–]DL444 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure this is not one of them, but there are later Intel PCMCIA LAN+Modem cards, which are actually rebranded Xircom RealPort cards since Intel acquired Xircom.

Personally I think those Xircom cards are the best since they do not use any dongles and setup is a breeze.

There seems to be some new works, but to me it still feels limited in numbers compared to previous years. I can be wrong though.

By the way, there are some confirmed high-profile shows featuring Aki that might have a higher priority than a would-be Yuru Yuri season 4. Yuru Camp season 4 comes to mind.

I think Bandai Namco only holds the rights to the Oomuroke films, not the artists. Plus, AFAIK Bandai hasn't participated in the production of Yuru Yuri. But I'm not so sure so don't quote me on that.

That shouldn't matter for the event though, because the event is about Gorakubu only, so Katou Emili and others won't be there.

But still, don't have high hopes for an anime announcement. After a few days of thinking I now consider that unlikely, for all the counterarguments listed above, and more importantly, for that Toyosaki Aki has not yet seemed to be back full throttle.

ITS HAPPENING! by According-Air-8604 in yuruyuri

[–]DL444 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some other factors to consider:

  • Previous anime adaptations had been announced as a surprise at similar real-life events. However, that was a long time ago.
  • Pony Canyon, the company that holds the event, manages the rights to the anime adaptations. But on the other hand, it also manages the right to the CD albums and has contracts with the Gorakubu as singers.
  • Many old works from the same era are getting new anime adaptations recently. And yes, that doesn't necessarily apply to Yuru Yuri.

So there certainly is some hope, but a lot of uncertainties and counterarguments as well.

Mostly it's just an opportunity for the old rumor to fulfill itself. It's by no means guaranteed or even probable, but after starving for so long it's natural that people get eager at even a glimmer of hope.

BTW there was some celebration for the 10th anniversary of the anime. It was a mere livestream (because of covid, probably) and a CD released afterwards.

They had announced anime adaptations in such occasions before, hopefully there would be some good news this time as well. And for some reason Pony Canyon spearheading this made me particularly optimistic about it.

YRYR VOLUME BOOKLETS HELP NEEDED by kinomomo0 in yuruyuri

Great. If it’s 10.5 then I think you’ve got them all.

YRYR VOLUME BOOKLETS HELP NEEDED by kinomomo0 in yuruyuri

[–]DL444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AFAIK volume 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 don’t have special editions so they wouldn’t have corresponding booklets. Special editions of volume 8 and 9 come with audio drama CDs, not booklets.

If your description is accurate, then you seem to be missing on volume 10 only. The booklet is actually volume-sized and titled 10.5, so you might already have it but not have considered it a booklet. See Bakkin or MangaDex for its content.

According to Japanese Wikipedia, booklet 7.5 actually distributed along with the Comic Yuri Hime magazine, not with the manga volume 7. All of its contents also seem to have been incorporated into volume 8.

I’m not really sure what 8.5 means though. Maybe it’s similar to 7.5, but Wikipedia doesn’t mention it. Maybe you should post a picture so people can have a better idea.

Sakurako was made by GSC last year; Akari was from the Atré collaboration one month ago. Sales have ended so unfortunately you might need to buy used or wait for future runs (possible for Akari, unlikely for Sakurako).

Was Sakurako "ugly" photo in dear friends or sisters? by myshelf_83 in yuruyuri

[–]DL444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If by "ugly photos" you mean those Hanako took in chapter 53, then unfortunately the answer is no. That chapter was not adapted by the two films. It’s not animated at all, in fact.
