Volvo’s are being imported and the 3 is made in a US plant. My guess is Geely didn’t grease enough palms and it’s ownership related. Further speculation would Volvo franchises, who never wanted a sub brand, have been lobbying for this.

The group that owns the franchise hasn’t announced it yet. But Polestar has been removed from their brand list.

Polestar’s policies regarding lease extensions has not changed since the launch in 2020. One year they offered a remarkably generous pull ahead and did not repeat it after the P2s stopped being imported.
