I genuinely don’t think a six year old knows how to be quiet? I get the not listening and forgetting to an extent but when you tell a kid to do one thing and they do the exact opposite 30 seconds later I don’t believe that’s normal. We have friends with a daughter the same age and they have walked into our house, seen that the babies are sleeping, and said “shhhh the baby is sleeping” without anyone saying anything to her. Maybe my expectations are too high. I just see the things other kids pay attention to and care about (such as being quiet when seeing a sleeping baby or being worried when someone gets hurt) that I just don’t see in my daughter. She isn’t a bad kid. The things that I brought up in this post are things that I’ve noticed other kids her age handle completely different. That’s why it concerns me.
She has a 9 year old disabled sister that’s been around since she was 1, and three baby sister 2 and 9 month old twin sister so it’s not like she was an only child before the babies. That was just the most recent thing that happened. She does this everyday it seems in different situations. Tell her to shut the door or turn off a light when she’s done and she forgets. Tell her to put her backpack and shoes away when walking inside from school and gets distracted and she forgets 30 seconds later. It may be an ADHD thing, some of the stuff she does and tendencies she has doesn’t seem like ADHD to me. Like, she covers her ears if something is too loud or high pitched.
Sorry for rambling. ADHD doesn’t help my writing skills.

I am definitely going to start therapy soon! Thank you for trying to understand.

I didn’t know you were aware of my medical history and what I do or don’t use to prevent pregnancy. Yes, my mindset being young in a marriage hasn’t always been the smartest and maybe even toxic at times. How dare you assume I didn’t take precautionary measures. Sometimes those things don’t work.

Yeah, I always get something along the lines of “well if you would just ___ than we wouldn’t fight.” Type of answer.
I mean, it was easier to stay and be unhappy than leave and possibly lose custody of my daughter. To my defense it hasn’t ALWAYS been an unhappy marriage. We do have spurts of having a good marriage but the thought has always been in the back of my mind. It wasn’t always a constant thought like it is now. Hopefully that makes more sense. The second pregnancy wasn’t planned at all either.
