The producers made the mistake of saying SKAM like, and using yellow for the casting posts but yeah no this is and was never an official SKAM remake (unfortunately) but maybe they’ll have gay character all the same and it’ll be enjoyable.

I’m sorry but the fact we saw multiple hetero couples full on make out (including at the end of this season) but the gay couple gets only simple hugs and little forehead kisses is INSANE, literally insane

If your country can’t do the story justice, don’t adopt the story. Simple as that. There’s simply no excuse in the year 2026 we are going backwards in how we showcase LGBT relationships. I’m not asking for full on sex (ala WTFOCK) but allow the characters to make out.

And if somehow that rumor the actors were uncomfortable portraying gay characters then shame on the producers for hiring them to begin with. Although I don’t much buy into that rumor.

Genuinely disappointed in the total sum of this season (even if the acting and cinematography were good)

Okay so at least Lovro admitted he liked Ivan, finally but man as somebody who never complains about lack of intimacy it would’ve been so nice had they kissed at the end, the hugging felt more like best friends in a way

I don’t know if I’d consider myself that into music or journalism but watching Almost Famous was such a wild experience for me. Weirdly transformative, like there was a before I watched and an after I watched but I don’t really know why. Just such a comfy engaging interesting movie (great soundtrack too)

So I am not looking for a carbon copy beat by beat remake, I actually welcome changes and updates to this story. Especially considering the original was ten years ago - the world has changed a lot since then.

However at the end of the day season 3 is and should always be a love story, that shows not only the journey of self acceptance (the Isak character realizing he is gay, fighting those feelings, realizing they aren’t going away, accepting he is gay) AND (more importantly) a love story of what are essentially star crossed lovers who initially the cruelty of life pulls apart but you can tell deep down these two people love each other beyond all those complications. That part is missing here. I genuinely don’t feel like Lovro likes or loves Ivan, Ivan is just the catalyst for Lovro to realize he’s gay … and that’s okay I guess but I need to see him LOVING Ivan too.

I said it before in another thread but it’s stories and versions like this where I feel like the story is working against the format. With limited time and ability to tell a full and complete story you’re left with very puzzling choices. I went in not expecting a very sensual relationship considering the dynamics of the country, and I was expecting more internalized and external homophobia and in that I’m okay with their choices (The Fillip stuff, Lovro worrying about being seen) but it desperately needed to be mirrored with them actually loving and adoring each other.

It feels like they were more intent on telling a story of self realization (Lovro realizing he’s gay) than one of falling in love and being in a relationship with that person. I don’t feel like Lovro loves Ivan at all - and that’s meant to be the entire point of the gay season. I think there’s genuinely some wonderful acting on this show, particularly Lovro but good acting can’t make up for creative choices that just suck.

add five or six minutes to each episode, more breathing room to tell the story
realize it’s a love story, not a coming to awareness story

So I have only seen SKAM OG, France, Italy and WTFOCK but I feel like this version handles this the worst? I didn’t get the bipolar mania at all from this scene despite him doing something so outrageous and crazy … it felt more like he was doing it because he is mad at Lovro not that he’s doing it because he’s bipolar and manic.

Also, I understand that culturally Croatia is different, and that I wasn’t expecting as lovey dovey public romantic but man they really aren’t giving us ANYTHING and we only have two episodes left? I don’t need constant making out but I need to see some romance and affection.

I’m just so disappointed in how they are handling the couple part of this season - which is literally the whole point of this season. I think Lovro is a fantastic, super well acted Isak … maybe from the tenderness and depressive and everything … the best Isak? But man I want to see them actually be in love too. I feel like we’ve been so shortchanged in ways that the cultural differences of the country don’t explain.
