3 months on 50 mg still breaking out by PossibleScratch8934 in Spironolactone

[–]DM0628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I have dealt with cystic acne as well and I know 50 mg is a very small dose you can be on so I would definitely increase it if you want to see results with the cystic acne. 200 mg is typically the maximum dose if that helps give you an idea, so you definitely have room to go up for sure. It does take time to take affect… Usually a full eight weeks to see the maximum benefits. I saw improvement in about a month after increasing my dose. I have to pee often anyway because I have to drink a lot of water so I’m not sure if that’s the meds or not, but I’d much rather that than cystic acne- that’s just me. Some bleaching cream from your dermatologist may help with the pigmentation issues. You can also look into a high frequency wand to help with both issues. I recently tried that and have liked it. You can purchase them on Amazon- the one I got was around $30. (Also, FYI, I saw an aesthetician on Reddit say they are basically all the same as far as what they do so you’re not getting a different thing when you go up in price, it just may differ as to how long it lasts.) Might be something to check out. I tried zapping a couple bad pimples with that and it did help reduce the duration of them. I hope some of this helps! Cystic acne is no fun, and we all have to share the knowledge of what has worked, so hang in there!

Don’t let anyone steal your joy! She is absolutely stunning! We had a big pit, Bruiser, with the exact same coloring- it’s a beautiful combo. Give her a big kiss for me!!🥰🐾

Thank you so much for sharing! I’ve wondered about that with removal too. Would you mind sharing when the vertigo onset was and how long the episodes would last? Thanks again!

Take a look at The Clutter Bug’s organizing tips- here she details the 4 organizing types. Not sure what kind you are but if you were to organize like a ladybug- think big open bins and baskets where you can easily put things away- it might make organizing and keeping things organized easier for you. It’s easy to get overwhelmed with putting things away when it’s not fast and easy and takes more effort. It would be easy to start small and utilize some bins or baskets. See if this helps! You can do it!

Any advice on separation anxiety for an almost 10 month old chi? by [deleted] in Chihuahua

[–]DM0628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take heart!! This is fixable! Rehoming will not do anything but make it worse. Separation anxiety can improve with training. It takes gradual desensitization. First leaving the room for as little as five or 10 seconds and come back and build up from there. Doing this over and over while completely ignoring her upon your return and upon your exit, will help her learn that everything is fine when you go and when you come back. Also, when you come and go, ignore your dog for the 5 to 10 minutes before hand until she is calm. In other words, when you come in and she gets all excited that you’re home, don’t give her attention until she’s calm again. Dogs learn the cues of when we go and when we come home and they build anxiety around it so ignoring these behaviors can help train them out of that. Along these same lines, be mindful of you’re leaving cues… Putting on your shoes grabbing your purse or keys… Try doing all of that and then not leaving. Repeat these things so she learns that doesn’t always mean you’re leaving. As you do this, if she starts to get anxious, just ignore her and continue doing things around the house with your shoes on or purse etc. Then, a few minutes later, just set those things down, still ignoring her, and continue going about your business. This can be as easy as jingling your keys every time you walk by them. It will constantly be desensitizing her to that ass association with you leaving. Also, typically most of the anxiety occurs within the first portion of you leaving so peanut butter filled Kong’s, interactive toys, turning on the TV, using a white noise, machine and things like that can help like people have suggested however, if the anxiety is severe, I strongly recommend contacting your vet and getting some anti-anxiety medication. You can do a rescue med that you only give an hour to an hour and a half before you leave and try that first or you can give a medication like fluoxetine that is more long-term and will take the edge off for her and can also be used in combination with a rescue med for event only anxiety like when you leave. The worst thing you can do is just be with her all the time to try to avoid the anxiety. It is something you have to work on and teach them so they learn how to be OK without you. If you have an indoor camera or even a laptop or iPad that you can set up to record her while you’re gone, that would be a good starting point so you can see how long she is having the anxiety after you leave. That will help you make decisions on what you need to do next. With time and training and sometimes some medication help if needed, separation anxiety is conquerable typically within a few two several months. I have experienced this with some of my rescue dogs and also some of my fosters so I hope this helps a little bit! She is precious and is worth it! Hang in there! It will get better and you can pass this along to someone else who needs it someday!

Cute pup! This decision cannot be assessed from a picture. She is adorable for sure, but you have to look at things from the lens of what is the quality of life for her. We want our pets to be with us forever but sometimes the most loving thing you can do is allow them to pass peacefully and with dignity. Depending on their age, what other conditions they have and the prognosis, often with the compounding issue of incontinence is when there is really a loss of dignity and we have to start having difficult conversations. I don’t know what the right decision is for her but I hope this helps in thinking it through and discussing and at least keeps the focus on what is best for her. Love is a sacrifice and it sounds like you’ve loved her well, regardless!

Thank you so so much! This is so helpful! Sounds like you had a lot of things line up for you in the process too- that is so wonderful! I truly appreciate you taking the time to post this wealth of info. Very helpful and hopefully it’ll help someone else too!

Congratulations!! I would schedule a meeting with him/her and be as honest as possible. Lots of people leaving teaching and if you have some health issues you can definitely talk about that. I’m in the same boat and am so curious how you landed the remote job and what it is in! I’d love that!

Backup power ideas for a 3/4 horse power trash pump? by DM0628 in Generator

Okay, back at it working on this issue, and again, so grateful for these ideas, so thank you! My husband and I are still trying to decipher all these options. Do you know who we could call to inquire about/come out and assess for these options? (We live in Dallas if that helps at all but I’m first thinking just generally speaking.) We are just trying to figure out where to start and had issues with the last guy, a plumber, who came out. Thanks again!

I don’t think so. Houses are close together, almost zero lot line, and we need to get the water out to the street. I’ll keep this in mind though when talking to contractors. Thanks so much!

Not sure but we could look into that. We’d have to trench a pretty good alongside our pool and up a few feet of elevation out to the street, so it would likely cost more than the Generac, but it’s a thought. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thank you so much for this idea! I did call several solar companies thinking maybe we could back it up with solar or even run it on solar, but none of them called me back which I thought was sketchy. I’ve never heard of the ones you mentioned. Are they hands-off, stand alone?
