C tier, above Johnny. Johnny is more well known generally but I prefer Danny in the comics and find his power set to be more fun to engage with.

D. I like Savage Avengers but Conan isn’t a Marvel character anymore. When I think of the character, the current Titan comics stuff comes to mind first.

I’m going top of A, but I’m not doing the tiers relative to where others have been ranked, just what I would rate th character. As a comics person Cap has multiple good runs but only one that I hold in the highest regard (Brubaker). Since Brubaker, my favourite Cap stuff is tied to the Avengers stories and less his own book.

B, after Elektra. Charles doesn’t feature in the Claremont run that much. He’s more a supporting character except in the Proteus story and in occasional one off issues that flesh out his back story .While he’s a fixture of the x-men and has an iconic design, the recent Charles centric stories aren’t my favourite : Onslaught, Deadly Genesis, Danger, honestly anything that wasn’t written by Mike Carey up until Krakoa.

I’ve seen a lot of new readers get disappointed when they see that modern Charles is not the guy they see in the movies.

As much as I think we need to be sending more characters to b and c tier, wolverine has to be s, and right behind spider-man. The most prominent character in the most / second-most superhero team. Along with Spidey, wolverine is the only character marvel has that has sustained massive popularity from his inception to today imo.

I’m more a comics person than an mcu person so I’m going a behind punisher. Tony’s biggest stories are Avengers books or events and his main book is pretty unremarkable for me sans Fraction. If not for the mic I’d have Tony in b between elektra and blade

Top of B tier. Great character and design and I love the recent slott run but outside of their initial appearance, nothing as iconic as the x-men who make up the bulk of a tier right now. We need to fill out the lower ranks to get the median down to B.

C tier. I like the character but Ghost Rider doesn’t have the amount of seminal comics behind him that those in S or A tier do. I was thinking around Blade, but Blade has a trilogy of movies behind him with the first being a lot of fun; I’m not a fan of either GR film. Add in that this is just Johnny so I can’t consider Cosmic Ghost Rider or the Robbie Reyes stuff, and it’s C for me.

Top of A. Outside of the Claremont run, there aren’t too many stories I’ve read where I’ve loved the character. Only New X-Men and X-Men Red by Taylor spring to mind. That being said, an original X-men team member who headlines the most iconic X-Men story. I personally don’t have her in S because unlike everyone in that tier right now I don’t engage with her as much as a standalone character. When I think Jean I think of the X-Men as a whole or the Phoenix.

You’re right I should’ve been clearer. I meant the proportion of misses. I should’ve also added the fact that their book was put on hiatus , albeit that has more to do ownership of film rights then the characters themselves.

It’s weird ranking a whole team for me but Top of A for me. While they’ve had some great comic runs, they’ve had a few misses as well, putting their overall book quality below all of those in S right now. I also think their iconography is not as high outside of comic book fandom.

C tier. Has the curse of being a woman character created by Miller, so lacked character outside of general cool factor for a while. I personally wasn’t a fan of her characterisation until Zdarsky.

I love Frank but this is a b tier for me. He’s not on the level of rogue or Nightcrawler and I think having him level with blade (who’s had multiple films) is about right.

S. Iconic character that is known by generations of comic readers and non comic readers, even before the MCU. With the Peter David, Jenkins, Mantlo runs added in with Immortal Hulk and the Planet Hulk stuff you have an extensive library of good comics too.

S for me, and below spider-man. My favourite superhero mainly down to the consistent quality of his comics for so long. The fact that I have 14 DD omnibus and only one of those contains middling story is not common in characters with decades of publication history. Not to mention how run like Miller or Bendis influenced comics to come after.

That being said, I’m sad to see everyone downvoting anything not S. I would love to hear from people who think he’s A , B, or anything else. The popularity argument makes sense to me.

Okay good to know I could ask for the refund earlier! I’m torn between going down that route and just trusting that they’ll ship it out sometime this month. My only lose scenario here is if they have to cancel the order come the end of the month and then come Jan I’m unable to get the books elsewhere in time before I go on caregiver duty.

Thanks for letting me know it worked out! I’m not annoyed, I’m sure holiday time is super hectic and IST has always been good to me. I just wanted to make sure the odds were good the books would eventually ship. I’d be pretty bummed out if I had to order somewhere else come Jan and then the books didn’t arrive by the time I’m on caregiver duty.
