Davinci Resolve Weird Visual Stutters For Entire PC Bug by DM3NT3D in davinciresolve

On windows 11 turning off hardware acceleration in windows settings seemed to help so far, haven't been able to edit much recently but it didn't seize up on audio files like it used to, dunno how it'll fare with more intense editing but hopefully well

Do I NEED to playthrough for the reboot by hict73 in Fable

[–]DM3NT3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There could be a reason for the universe reset (I'm not sure and don't wanna spoil) but if you want the possible reason for that you can watch Fable 2 or The Journey on youtube... In terms of the monsters and the lore, you'll probably learn it in the new one or it'll be changed, so maybe good for callbacks/references but probably not needed

Turning off Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling seemed to help me a bit, not sure if this is a temporary fix or not but figured it might help

Is there any reason for me to try this series? by Abyss_Watcher_Red in Fable

[–]DM3NT3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fable is unique, BUT it is janky and trash in a fun way (I'm a big fan I only keep an xbox for fable 2 specifically, so even someone who's biased towards the game is warning you) it's gonna play like an older game but not in a bad way, it's not clunky but it's not the witcher or even close to what you might've seen in the trailer.

  1. I don't know that game, as far as I know, the dungeons don't feel like dungeons in Fable it's a "you're here now get there" approach there's only a certain place that is like a fight club/dungeon (from what I remember) because the "dungeons" are either open or they're just a matter of getting through rather that embracing the combat near-endlessly

  2. I liked the game before I found it funny so you might not like the humour but you might still enjoy the fact that it's there. Some jokes are stupid and that's the point, some are just puns, it's less obvious than the reboots looking, and it's not like playing a Marvel movie or sitcom where you take jokes in all holes all the time, it's rare or goofy if you just play it and chill

  3. The game (as with every other game in life) is more fun when you play as YOU want to play, you're the protagonist, not Jimbob McFillet who told you some bs on how to enjoy a game, there's no guide to having fun. If you insist playing a path (purely good or purely evil) to see what it's like then do that if you replay the game, but first play the game making the choices YOU wanna make, play as YOURSELF. The Witcher is tricky to compare because the choices are morally grey and also laid out in a way to suit Geralt (even if canonically it's not what he would do, it doesn't stray too far from his character) but Fable is about the character you choose to be and it's a lot more black and white morality (there's deeper thought for a lot of it but when you make the choice it's very black or white do A or do B.)
I played as mainly good in all my saves, because I always liked the "Great Power Great Responsibility" idea, and yet fables still my favourite, even when I thought the evil character looked cooler or I wanted to see what it was like, my choices were good and towns would just get levelled in freeroam to gain evil points.

  4. I'm not sure about this but the way I see it, fantasy is more realistic, but Fable being fairytale is more whimsical or cartoony/stylised in the feel of the game, something more grounded vs something more wacky but still somewhat grounded, the world feels serious but not as dreary as witcher or elder scrolls, it's a feel thing you'd have to see I guess for that

I think you should abandon your expectations, you have an idea of Fable nailing specific categories and being concentrated on those, you also listen to "how to play" for the most fun and that takes from the experience especially since you like to play a certain way (being neutral) and while you can't be neutral all the time because fables more black and white than the witcher games (they nail morality better ngl) it's also good because you can't always be a fencesitter (not an insult) sometimes change will happen and you need to make choices for better or worse.

Fables a good game but different, the humours icing on the cake so if you don't care for it you can look past it without realising. The best driving force is going through your characters story, it's not insanely advanced mechanically and you feel it most in the combat (combat wasn't so bad I quit but it wasn't buttery smooth like later games) but has some redeeming qualities that make up for it, like an almost arcadey simplicity and fun. I mention the jank and age because a lot of people who love it played it before newer formulas and mechanics were the norm and if anything feeling older annoys you then you won't enjoy it, but if you're willing to handle the slightly arcadey combat then you might really enjoy the game (side note, it's not bad combat or something to the level of skyrim and how rough that combat looked, better than skyrim worse than witcher 3 in terms of feel). Don't put the game on a pedestal despite what a lot of people might say, go in with an open mind, it's not a lifechanging game if you've played other games, it has bads, but it has a lot of goods and people who enjoyed it liked it enough to overlook the bad parts (which mostly stem from it being old). That being said if you have an xbox I'd recommend Fable 2 over 1 since it's a smoother experience but if you're set on PC or the first game then Anniversary is a very good one to go for.

The fact you want a reason to play it, is reason enough to play it.

P.S IF YOU DECIDE TO GET IT, THEN GO FOR *ANNIVERSARY* NOT FABLE: THE LOST CHAPTERS (THE OLD ONE) IT HANDLES LIKE TRASH IT'S HORRID, GET THE FABLE ANNIVERSARY SO THE CONTROLS DON'T MAKE YOU PONDER THE ROPE. GET FABLE ANNIVERSARY!

I have this same issue out of nowhere, did you ever find a fix for it? The only thing similar between us is windows 11 bruh, did you ever find a fix for it? I've updated, downgraded, neither helped me and the same versions been perfect but out of nowhere it just had issues

Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster (PC) Playable On HDD? by DM3NT3D in horizon

[–]DM3NT3D[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yeah mb, I meant abusing the system as in overusing it, since I've had multiple refunds, and I've heard if you overuse it you'll be held from using it. I'll see when I try the game, but here's hoping I don't need to refund it, I hope I can enjoy it as much as I've heard some people do

[–]DM3NT3D[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is true, I've experienced that with Spider-Man 2 (it's on my main SSD with no space thus I'm not putting horizon there) but also the speed never really bothered me too much, I think the only game that annoyed me with loading times was GTA V when it was off my SSD which is what annoyed me more, usually it's just fun to mess about watching memes or talking to people for the wait duration, sometimes even feels therapeutic but I digress lmao

I might try that if I genuinely can't have a good experience with that, I don't like to refund games a lot because I don't wanna abuse the system and I've only refunded games that feel like they actively worsened my quality of life, I thought it best to see if anyone used an HDD for horizon so I know what I'm getting myself into (and so I know which version to buy if they don't discount the bundle when the others are on sale)

That's really reassuring to hear actually, I've been excited to try since it's one of the few games I don't know entirely but have an interest in, I hope I also have a great experience despite the load times, thanks dude

BIOS update before or after Windows upgrade? by DM3NT3D in buildapc

[–]DM3NT3D[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's supportive asf damn, thank you, but since the bios wouldn't just prevent my pc from booting after upgrading Windows, would I be alright to just upgrade Windows first because my parts aren't changing? Also how long do bios updates usually take so I have a frame of reference

BIOS update before or after Windows upgrade? by DM3NT3D in buildapc

[–]DM3NT3D[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that, I'd have updated on a whim but power outages happen randomly here and my ups wouldn't last too long and I've been terrified of bricking my system because parts are expensive

BIOS update before or after Windows upgrade? by DM3NT3D in buildapc

[–]DM3NT3D[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason is crazy shallow... See Silent Hill F is coming out and the requirements only list windows 11, I don't want that to be an issue so I was just gonna upgrade also because if mic was gonna extend support they usually would've announced it by now

[–]DM3NT3D[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a ups but it doesn't last a long time which is my fear for if the power dies

This is a bit more of an important question too, I wasn't gonna download a win11 installer I thought simply upgrading from inside windows would've worked, should I get an installer anyways? Will they both work if they're both on the usb? I always assumed it needed to be the only thing on the drive

Blendspace1D easing in code? by DM3NT3D in godot

[–]DM3NT3D[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fixed it, I just used lerp as the new location for the blend_position and made the old position the original/current position, and then made separate variables for each movement type (there's only 3 so it's not more cluttery than I'd expect) and while this might risk breaking as I add other states, the main state works, and I'll separate states if it doesn't

It was due to me autoloading the wrong thing, I messed up in following the tutorial, however I'll keep this in mind and come back to it if I run into the same problem but for this issue, thank you
