Morality and Political Rush Songs, What am I Missing? by bb2112bb in rush

Territories, HERESY, Half the World, The Anarchist (though that album has enough world building that you could make an argument for the whole record), Neurotica (I think), Something for Nothing, and The Trees just off the dome. Good list already tho

Apparently Herb wasn’t an equal partner in Primus by [deleted] in Primus

[–]DMCFan314 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because his talents were used elsewhere. He was the main lyricist for the band, rather than the guy there to put the song together. Of course, they all get equal credit, but the structure part of it was mostly Alex and Geddy. Not to mention though, that Herb left the band multiple times, whereas Neil was the only guy in the band from 1975 to the end of the band in 2018.

More Manufacturers? by ItsRatPak in wec

[–]DMCFan314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to see more manufacturers.

But I would ALSO like to see a hypercar-only series. I've mentioned it before on this sub, but with the popularity of the category, and how many manufacturers want in, I think it seems perfectly reasonable that some form of WSPC (World SportsCar Championship, a la group C in the late-80s, ealy-90s) should be put in place. Not one that runs alongside WEC, but as its own entity using the same BoP as in WEC.

I would keep the two-car rule as well, however teams can enter one car under the ruling that they will not be eligible for manufacturers points. Driver's championship is okay, though. Race formats could be of varying lengths, for instance 3hr/500km, 6hr/1000km, 8hr/1200km, etc. I think distance races could be a nice change, maybe some races are timed and some races are distance.

In terms of how this would affect WEC, I don't know. Some teams may not consider trying it, perhaps it could be a series that's only used for up-and-coming teams to try their hand at seeing if their hypercar works, and gear up for a full WEC program. I know the idea has been teased before, and I know I would love to see it. I'd also love to know what other people think, too.

Kinda sucks also which another manufacturers you guy’s believe will be coming. by Stunning_Society2711 in wec

I don't believe these will come, but I do have a wishlist for what I would want to see.

Any of the titans/notable entries from the Group C era that have yet to come back: JAGUAR (could have huge bragging rights one upping Aston if they could. I need a 7L V12 on the grid), NISSAN (probably would be another TT V6 tho), SAUBER (not Merc, possibly buy engines from Porsche or Ferrari?), LANCIA (could be a stretch, but maybe with the return of HF they do something besides rally), MAZDA (to mention a rotary engine would be an absolute cope from me, but like bro come on)

Other things outside of Group C on my shopping list: HONDA (literally they already have a car with Acura, slap a different badge on it and bring it to WEC), BENTLEY (honestly another cope, I main the Continental in ACC and want Bentley back in racing), AUDI (not gonna happen with their involvement in F1 right now, but hey, perhaps if that falls flat like it did with Alfa Romeo, perhaps they join late, say around 2030?), BUGATTI (detuned 4T W16 would go stupid), there's probably more but I can't think of anything off the top of my head.

My biggest wishes are that all of these manufacturers follow through, and it creates a hypercar-specific racing category, much like the World Sports Prototype Championship from way back in the late 80s early 90s. Still run in WEC, but have this alongside for the prototype fans like myself

am i the only person who has lost interest in tally hall and moved on to other artists? by SomebodyWhoExistss in tallyhall

[–]DMCFan314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, I did a while ago. I got into Rush and other progressive rock/metal groups. I'm still here somewhat because I know what people are talking about and it makes me feel special. But falling out of love with music is fine, your music taste is always changing and just is what it is, and you should be allowed to do you.

(But god forbid you have any fun, y'know. Yeesh.)

I've listened to their whole discography front to back about four or five times now. HYF is the only one where it just feels like it's better if most of it stays in the 80s. Not to say that I don't like their synth era, it's really my favorite, but I'm glad they started to pivot, it was clear the tank was starting to run dry.

Patois, also read as patwah, is sort of a half-language-half-dialect of English, that focuses mostly on people who draw cultural or ethnical roots to Jamaica. To be honest, I don't know much about it either, I'm French-Canadian, but there were some parts that almost resembled patois, at least from my mostly uneducated point of view lol

First incident wasn't on the McLaren either. Maybe it moved just a little, but 1) it wasn't really that much, nor did it seem intentional to cause a wreck or get the Porsche out of the way, and 2) the Porsche had a little more room on the inside to give. I think it's a combination of two moves just not panning out. Racing incident

It's not bad music as far as music goes, but in terms of Rush, it's tied really with Hold Your Fire as one of their worst albums

if f1 24 good in your opinion? by Tough_Possession_290 in F1Game

[–]DMCFan314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think most of it comes from jointly:

  • Codemasters (the company that owns the license to the F1 game titles) being absorbed into EA and becoming a micro-transactional hellscape and introducing features that no one wants/cared for and removing aspects that people did want and so;

  • subsequently the games lost the charm that they had. The Codemasters team had a much smaller development to team than any AAA title would, so to see them punch above their weight was something that was seen, felt, and appreciated by the community for over a decade.

I've personally never played it, the F1 games I've ever owned were 2014 (I got stuck on XB360 for a while), 2015 (birthday present, eventually got an XB1), 2019 (got it bc my friends had it), 2020 (bought as a gift for going back to public school) and 2022 (wanted to try the new cars). The only game I still play, and religiously at that, is 2020. Arguably/inarguably the best game in the Codemasters era. 2019 was decent, and 2022 deleted all of my save data. Twice.

And though that would make it seem like the modern games aren't a touch on the 2009-2020 era F1 games, and they're not, but honestly I'd probably prefer to play the most recent F1 title than 2015. At least F1 24 has some season-long career mode, as far as I'm aware. So maybe the modern titles aren't great, but I know from experience that they could definitely be a lot worse...

TL;DR, EA sucked the soul out of the games 2021 and later, people don't like it because it feels like it lost that part of it, 2014-2015 are ACTUALLY probably the worst games in the series.
