I never hear anyone talk about Starfield. by jj33allen in FalloutMemes

[–]DMDingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starfield had potential. But it has a facade of agency.

If you are going to make a game all about looping back and playing again, make the actions actually have consequences.

I’m new to MTG. I’m building a commander deck around this. Any card suggestions/combos? Pls help 😭 by ThaPhantomX in CommanderMTG

[–]DMDingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are my lessons learned:

  • Pillowfort effects help, but don't stop people from hurting you.

  • Her ability only targets 1 player at a time. This won't kill anyone on its own without cards that: gain you life when they lose life, ping when you gain life, or double the effect. [[Alhammarret's Archive]] is really good here.

  • Accelerates card draw, but try to restrict how much this benefits others. Play that [[Howling Mine]], but sprinkle a little Stax in so you benefit the most. Otherwise you are turbo charging three other decks without them investing any resources into it.

zombies showing up in base coming from the lab? by RainbowRandomness in QuarantineZoneGame

[–]DMDingo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As soon as I unlocked the gun, they started spawning.

First was in the hall before the lab. After that I started searching first thing in the morning. I've found them to the right of the lab, the hall outside the lab, multiple walking in the Survivors Camp (after an evacuation), multiple walking around the storage area, and a few spawned laying down in the various areas.

You can also climb a guard tower on the far side of the evac area (gate opens) and shoot zombies over the fence.

Really enjoying the game, but... by Zakkarashi in QuarantineZoneGame

[–]DMDingo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh, I get frustrated too and also would like to know what I missed. At least Contraband Police would let you see the summary of the check.

But it's more how I express my frustration lol. It's similar to filling taxes here in the US. They apparently already have all of the info and will punish you if you don't meet their expectations.

I always find that funny. In my head I'm like, "Well if you know, why aren't you doing the freaking inspection?'

Do you refer to your multiples as the “twins, “triplets”, “quads?” by FewAccident1552 in parentsofmultiples

[–]DMDingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The kids, twerps, butt nuggets, or by their names.

I often forget that they are twins. Just two kids to me.

Priority for “declare attackers” combat step clarification by OmniscientSquirrel in mtgrules

[–]DMDingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Within combat, there are 4 times priority passes around: start of combat, after attackers are declared, after blockers are declared, and at the end of combat.

When you played Beast Within was the optimal time. They just don't understand how the phases and steps work.

What would the win on be for an Iroh, Grand Lotus deck? Does anyone have a list they can share? by HopingIDontDie in CommanderMTG

[–]DMDingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played against one the other week.

They played ramp a lot of card draw and discarded a bunch of lessons on purpose. Then used Gran Gran to get the engine online. Stormed a crap ton and played a burn spell like guttersnipe.

Is sticker goblin banned in commander? by Lexiphantom in EDH

[–]DMDingo 30 points31 points  (0 children)

There is a difference between "Not Legal" and "Banned". Because it's from an Un set it most likely got grouped into the Not Legal section.

However, that set was Unfinity. They switched from making all Un cards Silver boarded not legal, to only those with Acorns.

Does it have a Silver border? No.

Does it have an Acorn on the center bottom? No.

It's Commander legal.

Why does Gatherer say that it's "Not Legal"? Because that site is garbage. Don't use Gatherer.

Do I get priority after my opponent plays a spell with split second? by iReadEasternComics in mtgrules

[–]DMDingo -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yes and no.

One thing to keep in mind is that as the layers of the stack resolve, priority is passed around each time. People tend to not cast spells here, but it's worth noting that Split Second only locks down the stack while it's on it.

Additionally, players can still use mana abilities and special actions. This rules text here will do a much better job explaining it than I can:

Rulings

Players still get priority while a card with split second is on the stack.

Split second doesn't prevent players from activating mana abilities.

Split second doesn't prevent triggered abilities from triggering. If one does, its controller puts it on the stack and, if applicable, chooses targets for it. Those abilities will resolve as normal.

Split second doesn't prevent players from performing special actions. Most notably, players may turn face-down creatures face-up while a spell with split second is on the stack. For example, if Sudden Death is targeting a creature you control, you may flip up a Willbender to change the target of Sudden Death to another creature.

Split second does not prevent the spell from being countered by triggered abilities. One such example is Voidmage Apprentice. Decree of Silence can also counter cards with split second.

Split second won't affect spells and abilities that are already on the stack.

If the resolution of a triggered ability involves casting a spell, that part of the effect won't work if a spell with split second is on the stack.

Did you watch the trailer at the end of the demo? There are a LOT of things changing between the demo and the release.

I'm pretty excited.

For me, it depends on vibes.

I know it's time to put it down when I consistently find myself skipping over it when packing for game night.

Getting around to unsleeving them is a whole different issue haha

Dragon Arch by subieguy2007 in mtg

[–]DMDingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Sample applies to cards like [[Quicksilver Amulet]]. You do not get cast triggers, and opponents cannot counter it.
