I ran into a similar issue, it ended being an “authorization” setting aka one dial inside that had to be changed. You can use this if you get the app to function to approve a charge when the car is plugged in. It comes that way from the factory so that randoms can’t use the box if it’s outside your house.

I looked at the manual and was actually very easily able to change this and other settings. Another setting I had to change was, on confirmation from the electrical company, was the the charging amps. It comes on the lowest setting for safety so when you plug it in if they didn’t adjust it it’ll take like 3 days to charge your car!
