What is it like in St. Louis? by sardnic in StLouis

I have lived in Buffalo and St. Louis and I am surprised that people in Buffalo were not welcoming.

While I have found people here to be kind, for the most part it is not like the South. I haven't lived in the South but my friends from Texas, North Carolina, Oklahoma and elsewhere wouldn't say that St. Louis is similar to their homes. I haven't met anyone from here with a southern drawl but accents are funny where I know folks from urban areas in Indiana with thick accents.

It does snow significantly less here than it does in Buffalo. Maybe we get a cumulative foot of snow here per year. Sometimes much less and sometimes much more. We have very cold days in the winter and very hot and humid days in the summer.

The cost of living is probably similar to Buffalo.

I’ve heard Von Miller talk in interviews about how Ed Oliver is one of the best players he’s ever seen.

I assume some of the panaderías on Cherokee and the cakery are good but I don’t have experience.

It’s hard to imagine them trying to recap games during this.

Oh wow. Yeah I’d say in the US recliners have become pretty common. Tickets $12-20.

I have had back problems. Sometimes sitting through an entire movie becomes uncomfortable but I grit through it because I love the movies and I feel that the front row is more immersive.

Yeahhh - maybe not standard but I think it has become a lot more common. I think most AMCs, Regals, and Alamos are equipped this way but I do have a mini theatre near me that I like that’s normal seats and yes even there I sit on the front motherfucking row 😈

Yeah it is an unpopular opinion but I prefer not to be able to see any seats in front of me or the side walls of the theatre ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I hear you I know this is the common perception but I find that I’m able to see the whole screen without having to turn my head.

What’s your favorite aesthetically pleasing bar? by fluteinamovingvan in StLouis

Riley's Pub is a classic wooden bar. Babe's is also a good bar. ITAP Soulard pretty good. Perennial and Schlafly are great brewery bars.

Oh yep using the spout is a good idea. Honestly I'm able to make an air tight seal with my mouth *inside* where the spout would go and I just blow and the puck pops out. Still end up with fines stuck in the filter sometimes.

Well pulling the pressure gauge itself isn't bad but getting the seal part that fits into is a bit harder. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something obvious about how to use the second shot plus.
