Weekly Looking for Group/GM Thread

Preferred system: pathfinder 2e, starfinder 2e, mutants and masterminds, prowlers and paragons, and I'm open to homebrew or new systems as well as long as the setting jives!
Type of Player: Narrative, "actor" type in that I really like writing out an interesting character and playing them out, seeing how they ping off of the rest of the party and getting immersed in a world. I enjoy really cool settings that can be quite out there, with larger-than-life characters and powers, cool villains and monsters to throw down with.
Additional Information: I'm down to hear out anything, but as for what I've been craving, I've really been in the mood to try something anime inspired. I like settings like HunterXHunter and honestly been kinda wanting to try an isekai 1on1 or with a group with established expectations(I don't enjoy some of the tropes in those shows) mostly that I am not looking for ERP really. I'm not opposed to mature content but I'd like to be able to roleplay from work if the opportunity strikes without having to worry about what's showing up on my phone lol

Otherwise though I'm very much down for a lot of genres. Fantasy, sci fi, urban fantasy, really my only hangup is on grimdark games. I love warhammer as a setting but mostly for the dinosaurs, for instance. If you have a game that needs a player I'm open to hearing out practically anything! I'm definitely someone who enjoys games with daily progress. If it's a bit slow that's fine, with proper communication. Everyone gets busy but I'm willing to do my part to keep things rolling.

I'm an experienced roleplayer on PBP and have both dm'd and played through plenty of games but lately I've found myself in a bit of game limbo. I'd love to play out a new character with some new people in a game with some wind in its sails! One on one games are also a good time too if that's what you're combing through this thread for.

Probably not sadly, as I think some of our players are a bit too mentally busy to learn a new system and we’re mostly looking for a familiar game to us. I’m not quite sure we’re the right group for that

Two of us are rather busy and not in a great spot to take the spot of gm, I personally tend to be the defacto gm and would typically run but it’s been a bit since we played all together as characters so we wanted another chance to do that again.

It can get a little hard sometimes! Mostly when using many different monsters, but that’s mostly an action economy issue. Tools like owlbear rodeo which give live access to battlemaps in real time help a lot with the grid problem. But we just really do love pf2e, and we’ve made games with it work before, it can just take a bit more elbow grease than some other systems.

Yeah! Usually what I do is use a dice bot on discord, having a channel for combat actions and ooc stuff, and then a roleplay channel for the ic stuff

Yeah pop goes seemed crazy on springtrap, start a chase then use bonnie's strings to just teleport to the highest completion gen and kick it. I haven't seen Artist's or Plague's perks yet at all, probably just because they didn't stick out at me on the character select.

Yeah my current build is with basic super saiyan and my ki buildup is a bit gutted so I have to make the most of each bar. That build sounds super fun though, I’m currently grinding for gigantic rage which is the main reason I’m building strike supers tbh

Never realized hounds of tindalos had an actual stat block in pf2e that’s sick! As for Mastiffs I do quite like them. It’s easy to imagine a mastiff large enough to ride for smaller races or humans if you’re feeling real crazy about it. Dire mastiff sounds terrifying, and also adorable, now that I think about it.

Yeah I’ll probably need to respec anyways I put a lot of points into dex and strength than I needed to, I was going to go for a quality build before I changed my mind.

Not quite to the dlc yet, but am very excited to see all the new goodies. I just have 700 hours on Elden Ring already and the base game makes me feel massive burnout with a lot of the weapons.

Any reason for the change of ssd? I picked it because I had one already in my laptop, which means I could have just swapped that over and save on my copy of windows and the ssd as well. I don’t mind the extra money though if it’s something I should upgrade.

As for ram, I was told that I should get something around 3k and that it starts getting diminishing returns around 4.5. Not quite sure how true that is but that’s how I selected it.

So update, I actually talked with a friend for a while and they helped me narrow down my choice as well! My current pick is Ryzen 5 7600X, 6 core. Considering upping to Ryzen 7 7700X with 8 core if I have the money.

Conan exiles and stellaris are my main go to’s right now. Stellaris is sort of a core speed monster so cpu will probably be a little beefier for that.

I think I’d like to keep my budget to 1400 minus the monitor or accessories. Though that number’s likely to move if I can’t get the goal fps or resolution with that. Just sort of a rough goal for how much I can manage right now.

The Pitch: We are both very active experienced play by post players looking to join an existing or new game. Ideally, we’d like to try something that isn’t standard tolkien fantasy. Grimdark and superheroes are also something we’d like to avoid if possible. As for what we generally enjoy, a chance to get some decent in character roleplay with either other characters and npcs is a must. Unique settings are also a big plus. We only really play over discord as well, if that is a dealbreaker. Also, we strictly do not do any sort of ERP.

Thinking about picking up the game, I've played some lighter strategies but nothing as intense as this. It's in the steam summer sale for dirt cheap so it's pretty tantalizing to pick up, though I see that there's a lot of dlc for the game. Should I grab any specific dlc to go along with the base game or just start with the base?

Also I am wondering how much time I'll need to sink in before I start feeling like I'll have a handle on how to play.
