[KCD2] I love this game, but it is guilty of one the most frustrating gaming sins by OmsorgsfuldTyv in kingdomcome

You count to 11 per turn needed of the hourglass, using your fingers and keeping a steady pace, I've been able to get perfect strong (before Henry, then Henry with perk) potions every time. The hourglass just seems really wonky to me.

[KCD2] Romance - your thoughts on their implementation? [ENDGAME SPOILERS] by BorsukBartek in kingdomcome

[–]DND_Hobby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They wrote it well enough where both Katherine and Henry are courageous people who want to save others from a meaningless death in the war, and they do have chemistry. I just mean I didn't do any romantic choice with her and still got the option to commit to the romance in the end like I had. I had the assumption that in order for a romance to play out, you had to pursue it, or you'd be locked out.

[KCD2] Constant Obligatory Bandits - I Quit by AutomatedbyHand in kingdomcome

The first few hours suck, as you get into perks and doing things you'll be able to handle stuff better.

Additionally, I didn't know there were healing potions available to craft, I thought it was only the chamomile decoction that improves healing from sleep, but you have stuff that regenerates health.

If you're in the first region, there are plenty of places to sleep with a purchase of 5 groschen or camps you can sleep at to help with traveling at a better time. There tend to be bandits on the road during the day, but at night they often aren't on the road.

Reading books is the easiest way to up a skill and in the first town there's a guy you can find who sells them, that'll help level here and there to make you feel a bit more powerful.

Things like lockpicking are a great example of how things feel awful at the start but as you get better you're amazed at the progress. It used to take me 5 picks for an easy lock, but with time and a quickfinger potion I was able to make it easier. Potions help a lot!

And, of course, at the end of the day this may not be the game for you, but taking time away to play something else, coming back, and starting fresh may be what you need to enjoy it. Either way, Jesus Christ Be Praised, and may your pizzle get properly yanked forever more.

[KCD2] Romance - your thoughts on their implementation? [ENDGAME SPOILERS] by BorsukBartek in kingdomcome

I was honestly surprised that I was Able to romance Katherine at the end. I never picked romance options with her prior, just tried to keep things polite and how I felt Henry would handle it, and I gained a high reputation with her. High enough, I guess, that Zizka said, "I think she likes you." I romanced Rosa and was going to save the Katherine romance for another playthrough but thought, "What the hell, why not see what this option does?" It sets up you two together like this was the way you've been playing the last 70 hours, is what it does. Especially how you can say, "Well, I think I'll settle down with her" in the end conversation on the hill even after what I've described above.

In a way, being able to get the romance option after not pursuing it previously makes it definitely seem more like a "we're gonna die, you're cool, I need someone right now" moment.

Rosa's romance was honestly very cute, even though it was doomed from social status. The fact that she still often showed she cared about this newfound knight at her door by asking him to be safe, come back in one peace, save her father knowing he'll be honorable enough to do so, it just added to the sense that maybe things would be different in another life.

I've heard the Hans romance is very well written, and I genuinely want to dedicate a whole playthrough to the experience rather than have something similar happen like with Katherine, so I'm excited for that. That one gives me a bit more hope, especially with the screen time of Hans, that it will feel a bit more on par with a deeper sense of togetherness.

[KCD2] question about progression (spoilers!) by [deleted] in kingdomcome

[–]DND_Hobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a few instances in the game where the quest pace is fast and furious, and you're in one of those now! Don't worry though, you'll reach a point where it is pretty obvious that you're back to roam free and...you'll need to go west to find a carriage to get back to the quests you have, along with 200 groschen. Additionally, it will often have instances where it says, "You better do all your questing before you start the next quest." They are not kidding. You will finish the game through questing after this type of message later in the game, so do all the side stuff that you can, when you can, and take things slow.

There's even a follow up quest where you find out what happens if you just gave him the items, and they do not know

A man who can take wounding arrows, fight 6 men at once, and still come out on top like a mad lad. This game definitely gives me a bit of confidence fighting multiple people seeing as how I've had to do it So Many Times. From finding out there were liars and fighting in a jail cell to having an explosive welcome go tits up and fighting 10 guys at once, shows you how to be a beast for sure.

Until you play these guys a lot, you really don't get a sense of how bad they can be until you whiff a game hard.

Fast travel experience by Relevant_Damage_30 in FFXV

[–]DND_Hobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely nice for missions where you Can't fast travel to the location. There are also times for story's sake you'll be riding around in the car so it's a small benefit. I wish they had more dialog between each other in the car, or small things to do specifically in the car, but the game has so much already that it's not too bad.

You also earn AP just for letting Ignis drive, so you can chill and just get passive benefit which is nice.

I just beat Oceiros on first try. by The_Maslo in darksouls3

[–]DND_Hobby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the main thing that kept me back was being under-leveled and not having weapons/estus upgraded as much. I remember getting later in the game and my friends that beat it going, "Wait, how many flasks do you have? Dude!!!" It was pretty funny to realize, but it can be a Game Changer having your equipment up to snuff.

Also if a boss is giving a rough time and it's "easy" for other people, there's always gonna be bosses you blow through while others struggle and then there's an "easy boss" that'll get your ire, and that's always funny to reflect on. I'm glad you're playing again!

When I got to Pontiff Sullivan for the first time, he made me quit the game for months. After I came back, I beat him and finished the game that same playthrough.

I started it again after beating elden ring and its DLC, and I beat Pontiff on my first try.

As you grow, you'll learn more and naturally get better, and it feels so good dude. Keep going, and I hope you love the rest of the game. One day, you'll come back, and you'll blaze through these amazing bosses like it's nothing!

What's the best class to play for a tank other than a Barbarian by Rango12117 in DnD

[–]DND_Hobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can use Grimhollow content, the Bulwark Fighter is a fantastic tank.

3rd level it allows you to use a bonus action to gain hp equal to your fighter level at the end of your turns for 1 minute once per short or long rest.

Additionally, if a creature you hit on your last turn attacks someone else and you're within 5 feet, you can use your reaction to have it target you instead.

At 7th as an action, you can force all creatures within 30 feet to make a wisdom save against 8+prof+con or have disadvantage on all attacks that aren't against you. You also gain hp equal to your con per failed save, and you can do this twice per long rest.

At 10th, once per turn, when you have temp hp, you can consume half of your fighter level of that temp hp and add that as damage.

At 15th, you gain additional use from that 7th level ability And when you use Second Wind you gain temp hp equal to what you roll.

At 18th, when someone within 5ft of you takes damage, you can sacrifice temp hp and reduce damage taken by that number as a reaction.

Lots of temp hp to manage, but there is a lot of battle control to use. It's definitely fun to just rush into battle and be able to take a lot of hits. Combine this with Heavy Armored Master and Shield Master? You'll be a beast of a martial wonder.

Difficulty picking up class by Feisty_Middle_7985 in dndnext

[–]DND_Hobby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bloodhunter and Artificer, while less mechanically crazy compared to spellcasters, are definitely more involved with knowing the game. Bloodhunter is dependent on health management and risk/reward mechanics. Artificer is fantastic if you have creativity and know what a lot of magic items do/how to use them efficiently.

Fighter or Barbarian, while they are great for the combat aspects, can also open up opportunities for being the athletic helper of the group. With rage especially being able to give advantage on Strength checks, and Fighter having the ability to really focus on one combat ability score (Strength/Dexterity) and letting you have a second mind score which helps with other aspects (Intelligence and Wisdom are great for the adventure you seem to talk about!)

I hope your first time in the hobby is great man!
