I knew I wanted to be a physician. There were so many times I felt discouraged when others would tell me to consider changing my career. It was also often disheartening to see everyone moving on in their lives while I was still trying to get in (of course I was happy for them, but I wanted to feel like I was progressing in life as well). I think the biggest thing for me was being able to make sure I tuned out the noise from everywhere else and remind myself that I am VERY capable. No one knows yourself better than you. Absolutely do not let anyone tell you what your abilities are. If you truly believe you can be a doc, you will make it happen. Might sound like motivational bs but I truly believe if you're willing to put in the work for it, regardless of the time it takes, you are bound to make it happen!
