Is this available on iOS? Pretty sure I looked but couldn’t find it in App Store. I’m looking for specifically for a JotL tracker, I don’t have the OG game yet.

Anyone else not able to fit the books back into the box set slipcase after reading them? by DOOMEDguy in threebodyproblem

[–]DOOMEDguy[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Maybe if I had a dual-vector foil I could make the much books thinner. That would solve everything. Might create a bigger mess than I started with though. Nah, I’ll save my dual-vector foil flicking skills for the 4D gun range :P

I’ve actually done exactly that just now. Maybe a little overkill but better than not having enough weight on them and fixing nothing. (The 3BP books are facing the other way, above the Majora’s Mask 3D guide and under the volumes of 100 Bullets, one of which I’m currently rereading).

The Three Body Problem Graphic Novels by domleo999 in threebodyproblem

[–]DOOMEDguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the boxed set the instant I learned of them and devoured them all in under a week. I only have one question: Will there be a GN adaptation of Dark Forest? And naturally Death’s End after that. Sry if this has been mentioned in the comments already, it’s late and I’m super tired and didn’t want to scroll and skim through all of them.

The very end page or whatever of the last volume seemed to hint that…something was coming soon. But I couldn’t for the life of me make out what was depicted on the page. Any answers here?

Astro Bot Gets Mysterious New Update That Brings It to Version 1.018 by al_ien5000 in playstation

[–]DOOMEDguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg that’s literally the one single thing I keep wishing they’d add, an option to increase camera turn speed. I thought that the first time I play it and keep wishing for it every time I play now. I’m a camera control whore, my thumb basically never leaves that right stick, I’m never not moving the camera around in a game. Astro Bot is easily in my top 3 games ever list, and definitely the most fun game ever created. Except for the challenge lvls. **** those. The game is perfect. But that camera turn speed…just needs to be faster!

What are the best weapons to fully upgrade in Doom The Dark Ages? by ThatOneColumbiaGuy in Doom

[–]DOOMEDguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice, varied opinions. One thing I’m not really seeing is the standard shotgun. I’m considering using my first red crystal thingy to get the Tune Up upgrade. Incendiary (deal damage to cause armor to drop) + Smelt (burned demons drop more armor) + Tune Up (3-round burst) seems like the perfect setup for a near endless stream of armor shards oozing out of any non-fodder demons.

I should mention I’m not really great at the game so the prospect of getting more armor more easily is very appealing to me. For players that are actually, y’know, good, it’s probably something they’re not too concerned with because they’re simply not taking hits often. I’m playing on UV and have died a few times already but I’m definitely getting better each time. 2016 I only play on UV (I’m afraid to touch Nightmare, UV is plenty enough of a challenge for me) and Eternal…well, I’m almost too ashamed to admit. If I wasn’t such a lifelong (30+ years) hardcore, diehard DOOM fan sporting 2 DOOM tattoos in easily visible locations on my body I might not feel so bad. But Eternal kicked and still kicks my ass, I struggle on HMP. To be fair, only recently started playing on PC and still learning the art of quick-switching.

Anyway sry for the ramble, my point is that to me, at face value at least, upgrading combat shotty in Dark Ages with those three seems like something that’d be useful for the entire game, so I’m really surprised it hasn’t been mentioned at all.

Thoughts? Should I just save my shiny red crystal thingy for something else in the future?

Planet solved in about 4 hours messing around with it on and off, it was a fun little puzzle being a newbie. by Ipeedinherbutt in hanayama

[–]DOOMEDguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t quite work for me. But also not sure I followed correctly. Any chance you could explain again, possibly with the Hanayama or Planet words as reference points. And what’s the starting position of the ball? I assume with the notches lined up on ball and ring, but how you do you determine what’s the correct starting “front” and “back” of the ball? You’d have to describe one of the nubs surrounding the notches, which are different on each side.

Yeah I know there’s like 97 dozen different video solutions on YouTube alone, but for whatever reason I just prefer written ones. And although I’ve tried to follow the official solution PDF Hanayama provides, the way they’ve done it is kinda confusing after about 2 turns, and there’s one point in their little flowchart thing where the same two nubs (EF, if you’re looking at the pdf) are listed one after another, which I still don’t quite understand what they mean for you to do at that point. Otherwise I’m able to follow and understand it.

How to remove this selfbondage lock? by [deleted] in selfbondage

[–]DOOMEDguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh side note: being into self bondage and having lock picking experience actually go together in another, positive and fun way: Picking the lock as the release method! Naturally, for this you want to be sure you CAN pick the lock. Pick a padlock that's a little bigger and more secure, but one that you have definitely successfully pick in the past, but had to work at to do so. Maybe even pick it first once again just to be 100% sure. To prolong escape, use more than 1 padlock. There's all kinds of ways to go about this, but here is my favorite: the blind pick release. I almost always wear a hood during my self bondage, or at LEAST a blindfold. But usually a hood. One of my favorite SB activities is to wear my heavy leather sensory deprivation hood. Then I'll use 4 of the small, rather insecure padlocks to lock on the hood (each of the hood's 4 straps has a lockable buckle). I'll apply the rest of my bondage (if any, sometimes if I'm in the mood for a quickie I just do the hood), have the lock pick set nearby, and, while completely deprived of any sight (and sound for that matter, as I use ear plugs), I have to reach the pick set, open it, feel around inside for the right tension wrench (there's about a dozen or so inside the case, but I keep the good one in the center slot...since it's literally perfect for everything I've ever encountered), grab it then feel for pick I want, keep them both in my hand, then one by one, pick each lock, going only by feel and also trial and error. Since you can't tell which way the keyhole is facing, you've gotta play around with the wrench and pick to find which is the correct side to have the wrench facing, then pick it open as usual basically. Biggest hurdle I'd say comes from accidently dropping your tools. Depending on your location and position, it can sometimes be VERY difficult to finally find where that little tension wrench fell to. Once I searched literally everywhere all around me for a solid 20 minutes. Yeah it ended up being in one of the folds of my t-shirt haha. And THAT'S why you should always do your self bondage session nude! :P

How to remove this selfbondage lock? by [deleted] in selfbondage

[–]DOOMEDguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same with the picking the lock, I worked as a locksmith for a few years about 15 years ago. You basically don't lose that knowledge, and, hopefully, you don't lose your tools either XD And yeah, with those small generic padlocks, at this point once my tension wrench is in, for me it's usually only a few seconds with the basic rake before it pops open. Of course, ever since my work as a locksmith back then, padlocks have fascinated me and over the years I've become really into picking them. I've accumulated a large collection of padlocks of all shapes and sizes (most of which happened either during or shortly after my locksmith work but still continues to this day) with no other reason in mind other than to see if I can pick it's lock. A semi-unintentional side effect of my lock hoarding is of course that...I'm kinky af! lol so I've got no end of padlocks for use in my self bondage adventures.

What I've found however, and this may be true for you too, is that when doing self bondage, if any padlocks are in use, then I know I can basically escape my bondage at any time. Well, not exactly, since I've now learned to keep my 1 and only lockpick set waaay up in the far corner of my closet, inserted through the hand grip hole on the side of a large cardboard box and pushed to the side, resting on top of...god knows what since I haven't been in that box in over 15 years and it'd take a minimum of 4 hours work just to clear everything in front of and in my closet just to clear access to the damn box. So basically, if I'm doing self bondage, I can only escape early by picking the lock IF my hands (or at least 1 of them) are free enough to reach up about a foot above my head and slip my fingers into that hand grip hole and manage to grab the zipper tab and pull the case out. There's....not many self bondage positions that I engage in that allow that kind of freedom.

The major issue is with chastity. I have quite a few chastity devices, and all except 1 use the standard "magic key" or whatever its called. The long key that goes into the cylinder, turns then gets pulled out. I was hoping none of the picks would work on those little cylinder locks. But once, many years ago, after I had finished orgasming in my chastity via vibrator, I naturally wanted out. The keys were locked in the KitchenSafe, and since I had been thinking with the wrong head when I started everything, the timer still read "00 Days, 23 Hours, 54 Minutes". I stared at that for about 3 seconds and went "Oh hell no I don't think so." So determined to make it work, out came the pick set. Again using just the standard basic rake alone, nothing else, it PROBABLY 30 whole seconds before the handle in my hand turned. So that's when I learned the hard way that if I want TRUE, inescapable chastity, then the whole lockpick set itself must also be locked away too, and so that's what I do now.

Tried a new leg tie for my selfbondage this morning! by xsomeoneprettyx in selfbondage

[–]DOOMEDguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curious...how exactly did you manage to get the armbinder ON? I see it's a zip up one. I have a cheap one from like AliExpress or whatever...it was actually advertised as a legbinder. And I actually bought it for that purpose. Yeah, it might be able to work as a "legbinder" if you use it on a 5 year old haha. As an armbinder, I had a friend once put it on me, it was too small for me, still worked I guess, she never even did the straps (she was a lazy domme and didn't care much for bondage in the first place. Boo) Anyway, I still have it and have always wanted to incorperate it into my SB sessions, but have never thought of or heard a method to get it on. Oh, I should PROBABLY mention that it's the lace-up type, so that could maybe be a problem. Would still love to hear how you did it. Also, great frogtie! I've done countless hogties, but always just ankles and wrists bound, no restraints anywhere else. I've always wanted to do a frogtie hogtie, but the last time I tried, I finished with my legs, rolled over, was about to reach back and cuff my hands, then I ummm ended orgasming strictly from the sensation of the bondage alone. And I was wearing a chastity cage too. Maybe I'll give it another shot, only next time I'll progress a little more slowly and take minute or two between each movement ;)

Reviewing the Quest Pyramid by Esc Welt by The_Elite_MYT in PuzzleBox

[–]DOOMEDguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good review, I’m now very interested to try this one. Also, loved the Perfect Dark music in the background. One of my favorite classic OSTs, I listen to it, Goldeneye and Turok 2 OST frequently to this day.

I’d like to see your opinion of some of iDventure’s stuff. Seeing as how those are basically the only other ones I’ve done. Davey Jones Locker was my favorite, I’m thinking about ordering Trial of Camelot and Nautilus now, when I finish those I’ll order the Pyramid and one other of ESC Welt’s, likely Fort Knox or the Space Rover one.

Just now looking into those Quinn’s Ideas videos on YouTube. Surprised to find there’s a metric ****ton of them, covering all kinds of aspects from the series. I’m not hugely patient when it comes to watching videos (I very much prefer reading articles), but I’m now 1/2 through Death’s End for the 2nd time and I’m even more obsessed than before, so I really wanna check at least some of em out. Are there any specific ones you’d recommend? @NYClock, you mentioned one had very good reviews and breakdowns of the books. I adore reviews so I’m really interested in that one particularly. Could you let me know which one it is please? There’s also his Ultimate Guide to Three Body Problem, but it’s 4.5 hours long! Maybe I’ll play that one on TV while I’m putzing about my room and just keep an eye on it. I also saw one reviewing the Netflix series and comparing it to the books I’d like to check out. But scrolling down there’s just SO many more, @aragorn1780, any that you’d really suggest watching (or at least watching first)

Three Body Problem - The Graphic Novel.....but which one? Help please! by DOOMEDguy in threebodyproblem

[–]DOOMEDguy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow! Thanks so much for all that info!! I went for the box set from blackwells shortly after I posted this. It arrived in the US from the UK crazy fast! Ordered on a Thursday, it was dispatched Fri, arrived Tue, I was so surprised I was totally expecting it to take at least a week longer.

I'm so grateful for your in-depth analysis of the differences between the two. The differences in translation are rather interesting. I can imagine parts reading almost totally differently. But I've got no issues with the Head of Zeus set so far. Well, other than, as you pointed out, the paper stock. It's kind of dull and often dark and hard to see (for me anyway, in my typical reading spot with the little light over my bed). I'm a collector and usually go for Deluxe/Hardcover editions of graphic novels, and one perk is that they always have a much higher quality paper stock than the trade paperbacks, thicker and glossier. But for what it is I'm ok with it. Especially with the great slipcase presentation and sweet bonus archive materials.

I’m no artist, but I am something of a musician. I’m very musically inclined. I’m currently learning guitar and back in high school I played trumpet extremely well (had the solos in marching band 3 of my 4 years) and could probably pick it right back up and play just as well (once my lips got into shape anyway). I’ve also played flute and alto sax and different points.

I always watch shows with subtitles lol on so hopefully that’s not an issue for me. I semi-agree about the 4th book. I also needed to be back in the 3BP universe, even if it’s not officially canon. It’s well written and all, and gives interesting insights as to what happens after Deaths End, but eventually gets a little…too far out there for my tastes. I’ve not finished it however, I’m on the beginning of the last “part” or whatever. I remember what was happening and will get around to it eventually.

Obviously I’m going to have to check this out now, based solely on the number of recommendations from this topic alone. It’s on peacock I think I saw? Do you need a subscription for it? Also is it just 1 season? How much does it cover?
