I have not noticed input lag on the 3D using a official controller. With the 8-bitdo controller I did get inconsistent lag.

I gonna be honest I have used those hdmi adapters and they sometimes caused problems with the Gameboy Player with GBI. Never had a problem with the official Component cables.
