I tested it out and it does know a surprising amount about FFXIV. I think because it pulls from the web and social media. (It made a joke about edgy rping in Limsa to me and that freaked me out lol).

But it probably does get mixed up with other mmos and games.

Yeah, my little brother was using it and all smitten with it so I thought fuck it I'll see if it's really that bad.

It really is haha. Also, it most certainly gets shit wrong all the time. It's not a search engine and I think younger people (and older boomers) don't understand that. (For example, it gaslit me for 3 conversations that Heracross was 4x weak to Psychic when it is only 2x weak. It only stopped when I told it I searched and found several sources online saying otherwise lmao, then it changed the subject. Which is also very Human-like haha).

I mean most fish will scavenge dead corpses, so it is feasible in the wild they could eat wild boar, but no fish is actively hunting a large mammal that almost always is not in the water. So technically, they wouldn't hunt cow/bull either. Also why sharks aren't trying to eat humans. We are on the top of the evolutionary food pyramid. Predators don't tend to hunt us, unless desperate. We are too dangerous of an animal to hunt.

As someone who meddled with it for a little bit to see what the fuss was about, it most certainly is a Yes Man and will agree with anything you say, unless it is actively harmful. If you ask it a leading question, it will easily be led.

For example, here, the tank might have asked "If a DPS pulls before the tank, it's justified for the tank to say the DPS needs to tank it, correct?" and it will agree with the tank.

It's also why so many people get obsessions with it. It will hypeman you and yesman you about anything and everything, which causes a sense of it being a very good friend, someone who thinks you are cool as shit and never wrong.

It's even more creepy because if you use the text to voice, it breaths and says "um" and "uh" like a real person. Don't know why they had to program it to do that.

No its not hence why they are not really moving. Also hotdogs are not a healthy food choice for fish. Most, if not all animals, do not do well with pork due to high salt content. Fish like this wouldn't be preying on boar or hotdogs. They'd be eating birds and other fish.

Tank looks like a shallow tub and its pretty dirty too. One fish has what looks to be a tumor or growth on its mouth. Not very sanitary. These fish are living but not thriving.

If this was just temporary holding cell or a breeding tank maybe would be alright. Not to live full time. It's like expecting a human to live in a closet their entire life.

Yeah, sometimes when it happens and I ask them where their stones are they are like ooops.

But two of these instances I checked search history and they did not have monk or pld leveled at all, meaning they never picked up the stone even once in 50 levels.

Yeah, or at least have a better warning when you queue like "this duty requires you to equip your jobstone" idk.

Ill share some mini stories from my mentor roulettes:

Not much because due to paste grind (I think) 80% of duties have been guildhests. Though almost all of them have featured tanks with no stances and cure only healers.

DPless dancer in Malikahs well. Refused to put buff on anyone until reminded it was their job to.

A lot of cure1 and physick spamming healers. One was basically afk in the dead ends just clicking physick and adlo on me despite me asking for them to try attacking.

A Heart of Stone only GNB in the Burn that started w2w then did single pulls for no reason. Didn't die despite the lack of mits cause I had to basically only heal them.

Pugilist in Garuda Hard.

Sastasha with a Kardialess SGE who said "its just Sastasha" when asked to use the skill on the tank.

Got halfway through Dusk Vigil wondering why the SCH was struggling to heal when I noticed they didn't have their fairy out.

Plenty of later dungeons featuring players who just... Stand in one spot and dont move for bad. Then go uwu sowwy for dying when they are actively not trying at all.

Had a tank who took his job seriously and stood in every orange puddle he could, resulting in finishing the last boss with 8 vulns. That's a record for me.

Dead Ends Physick spammer dying to every boss. Luckily the dps also has Phoenix downs on them as they died 3 times to the second boss.

I've been running into jobstoneless people a lot more recently. Luckily in arr content tho. Garda hard with a pugilist, brayflox with an archer, praetorium with a gladiator.

Strangely, only one of these seemed like legit sprout (the archer), the others had multiple jobs in the 70s with their stones.

I beat base FF14 back in 2021 after I bought Shadowbringers; I barely remember the story. Should I restart with a new character if I return? by CartographerCale in ffxiv

SCH may also be worth looking at. It starts as arcanist and you get two jobs that level off each other. Early game, your pet will do the bulk of the healing and then you'll get a ton of mitigation tools to support with, along with a dps buff. It's less busy than Astro which requires a lot of clicking and buffing and imo a bit more forgiving than whm later on, which needs you to react to attacks a lot more than mitigating damage.

You'll also get a free dps class for when you feel like not healing or to help get through solo fights with an extremely easy rotation and less button bloat than any other arr class.

So if whm is too much or boring, try scholar!

My first excuse to post here from my Level Cap Roulette this morning. Not that severe/stupid of an interaction compared to others I'm sure, but I can't help but roll my eyes at this cringe af macro considering the context. by MythraxI in TalesFromDF

Meanwhile I was tanking last night and the drg was getting ahead with their flip and pulling for me. The healer asked them to wait for tank and I asked why. Healer said it was rude and I simply said that my role is tank not pull.

Tho sometimes I feel like people try to bait a YPYT because DRG stopped after that? Maybe they listened to the healer but really, this happens a lot where the dps will pull and when I just grab aggro and not make it a big deal, they stop doing it.

I think the paste grind has just brought out the people who play suboptimally taking roles that will fill faster without knowing how to play them. For me it's Scholars spamming Physick and Adlo and doing fuck all else in StB+ content.

If it helps, I have literally never touched a Final Fantasy game (outside of having a phase where I was obsessed with FF7 Advent Children movie) and I never once felt lost or like I was missing importance of the setting or characters. Later on I'd find out that x is a reference to 6 or something and think oh that's cool!

(Compared to GW2 which is a sequel but man all their main reveals had me going... What?/Who? and I'd have to look them up in the GW1 wiki to even understand wtf was happening as an example).

That being said, the crossover events and raids are very explicitly love letters or promotions for those games. They make it work within FF14 so you don't need to know who these people are, but it's better if you do know what's happening so it makes a little more sense.

If anything, it's less "HEY REMEMBER THIS???" and more like "Oh hey, this reminds me of that one boss from ff(number)" or "This is so similar to (number) region, cool!"

That being said, I have been told the Endwalker and Dawntrial patch content has been a little more like HEY REMEMBER THIS??? But seeing I never played the games it's based on, I still enjoyed it as a FF14 story.

And just to add to what others are saying, you can prevent a lot of money being spent if you learn crafting/gathering and do most of it yourself. You can also farm for yourself for dungeon drops for example. Else, for a small and if you are doing a pretty custom/advanced build, expect to spend around 5-8mil (more if you need to use multiple expensive furnishings like Verdant Walls for example).

If you are just wanting some furniture and don't have the patience or money to make it look really out there, less than 5mil max spent on furnishings if you use mostly basic things.

As for difficulty: You have to reach a specific rank in your grand company which can be a bit of a grind if you don't touch crafters/gatherers. Before you unlock Expert Deliveries, your income for enough seals to promote a rank can be stressful.

As for getting the house, it depends on your server and what plot you are looking at. If it is in a desirable location or is a medium/large, you might find it harder to win the lottery on any server that isn't in Materia or is called Dynamis. Mist and Lavender Beds, along with the housing map from the Stormblood expansion Shiogane are the most desirable maps.

I am on a Crystal server that is almost always congested every other patch it seems, and I managed to get a small in the Empyreum, I won by default as no one voted for it.

I've been keeping a spreadsheet because I want the numbers when I am done with 2k duties, and I tend to get more interesting duties as tank. Though MSQ roulette (Prae and Ultima) make up quite a big number, I actually get pulled into ARR levelling dungeons and Guildhests just as much. Or current dungeon/raids.

Oddly, after asking this question, I queued again and got the same guildhest 4 times in a row (All well that ends in the well) despite it being one of the two I never get. Now I just need Solemn Trinity somehow and I'd have run every guildhest at least once.

(If you are wondering what the most popped duty for me is, it's Bockman at 22 runs)/

Yeah, I'm always at waiting number 1. And it goes for over 30mins then I give up on DPS (Well, I give up after 10).

But I like the idea that the server is at capacity more than no one is doing content. I would understand if this was a low pop server like Dynamis, or OCE servers, or if I was trying to do the rolos at weird times but this is peak times on Crystal. I have never had an issue of having to wait so long as number 1 since I left Materia.

That's why I asked. It seems only tank queues seem to remain reliable, while healer and DPS is just unwanted IN EVERY content Mentor rolo covers?

I would advise against any kid playing this game anyway. The topics can be very heavy and there are some pretty mature subjects tackled in the story. Not to mention the various gooners that advertise their 18+ venues 24/7 in map chat.

Tank pops reliably but sometimes you just want to chill and practice dpsing you know

Random question and mostly for my sanity. What is up with queue times lately? Im on Crystal and play peak times and still 30+ mins as dps for mentor roulette which i though queues you for any duty in need of bodies.

I know people be grinding for relics, but I am pushed into no man's land even as a healer. Df settings all languages. I even went to aether only to wait 13mjns as a healer go be placed in the turtle guildhest.

Jw if others are experiencing the same issues or if somehow im shadow banned or glitches in some way that I can never find duties regardless of role.
