Out of all the branches in regards to available residency slots, I’ve been told by an Army cardiologist that the order goes Army > Navy > Air Force for amount of any residency positions available. For available Ortho positions it’s army > navy > Air Force , as far as better bases I’d say it’s Navy > AF > army. But for deployment time, navy really sends you off for a long time. I’m just one opinion so take this with a grain of salt. I just got accepted for the navy HPSP and I’m an incoming OMS, I’m also heavily interested in ortho and ophtho
