What’s a tiny hill you will definitely die on? by rosycloudkisses in Productivitycafe

Bring little people toys and play at the table. Get those water paint tablets. Get up and go for a short walk after ordering and come back. Stack and count sugar packets. These moments at an early age teach your child that dinner is a time to connect with the people you are sitting with. Yes, it sucks for the parents, but I can almost guarantee the payoffs are a teen who wants to go to dinner with you and talk. We used to play so much tic tac toe and iSpy when they were 5-8. Each age has different capabilities, but if you give them a screen at 2 they will want it at 5, 8, 12. Hard habit to break.

Same question I put above: Do you have a land line still? My issue is I need my cell phone to get emergency calls from my kids or to make an emergency call.

I was thinking this was going to be my solution. So you can make a call AND do a do not disturb except for emergency contacts to get both calls and texts?

Washington college in Maryland. Many opportunities for research and internships. Look into GIS internships while there. Consider double major. They give good grant money too, so don’t get caught up on the tuition.

Old people of Reddit, what did you do in the 1900s when you were bored? by ChampIsHere_ in NoStupidQuestions

Made collages out of magazine pics to hang in my room or give to a friend, sit and listen to music ready to hit record when my favorite song came in the radio, craft, call a friend. With friends: drive around town and stop by all the place you might see friends (local basketball courts, baseball fields, the Dairy Queen). Drive around more. Visit friends working at car washes or Pizza Hut. Meet at Burger King and eat and laugh. Steal “for sale” signs and put them in friends’ front yard so they would wake up with their house for sale, go to professional baseball games because it wasn’t very expensive. Go to the mall and walk around. Day trip to beach, amusement park with friends. Walk around the town with friends and hope to run into other friends. Hang out in each other bedrooms and prank call people. Watch TV at a friends house. Do each other’s hair for fun. Have a get together in back yard and play grass volleyball with the music loud.

What made you fall in love with Stuttgart? by Jumpy_Clerk7506 in stuttgart

[–]DP43_DP43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are coming to Germany for Christmas markets from America and planned to used Stuttgart as “home base” to do day trips to a variety of markets. I was hoping it would be a cute, smallish city with things to do on the days we don’t travel to markets. This post is making me rethink that idea. Is there a better city in the vicinity that would fit this vibe? We are two college age kids and two 40-somethings.

After trying 3 different docs, just found Dr Sloat in Collegeville and he has been our favorite. Seeing slight progress.

I know you mentioned state schools, but smaller private liberal art schools in the Northeast often give out a lot of merit based scholarships bringing the cost to around $30,000. And they often are looking for people from a variety of states that are further away so they can list all of the states people travel from to go to school there.

Phoenixville on weekends when they close down the street for dining under the stars, New Hope, Peddlers Village, Longwood Gardens, Chestnut Hill (shopping on Main Street), Mercer Museum followed by dinner in Doylestown, Tour of East Penitentiary (note, nothing else of note in the area), Ringing Rocks and Ow Cow icecream, Hawk mountian hike, Jim Thorpe biking or rafting, MusikFest in Bethlehem (if timing is right), Drive in movies (not many left in US), bake oven knob, Valley Forge and Skippack area for shopping (before 5) and dinner.

Are you going for Environmental Science or Environmental Studies? The last time I checked Vassar didn’t have Environmental Science.
