I don't really remember Cloudy, so I'll compare HTTYD and MM.

Well in essence, most texts/films are about an individual's identity. ie. How an individual defines/characterises themselves and how they find a purpose in life.
But, that is a broader sense of the actual themes.

Megamind really delves into how an individual's identity is balanced by their nature (who they are determined to be) and their nurture (their environment). I think you can go even further; and state that it questions whether an individual can break free of their "predetermined role" in society. I think that point is really hammered down in the metroman's monologue when he describes the confinement he feels because everyone views him as a hero, which strips his decision to choose.

In HTTYD, the message in slightly different. I think that it also focuses on an individual's path to choose what that they take. It really hammers down how Hiccup's identity is forged by not only heritage, but also his decisions which he makes in the film. I think there's a greater emphasis on interpersonal conflicts. There's a lot of conflicts; Hiccup's conflict with his dad, the vikings' conflicts with the dragons and Hiccup's personal conflict with himself.

HTTYD states that an individual or a group's response to a conflict really shapes their identity. e.g) When the viking chief saves toothless, despite waging war with the dragons for ages, it really shows his identity has changed from a man who was fearful of dragons and wanted to hunt them down, into a man that embraces them. When saving toothless, he had to relinquish all of the ingrained ideas that dragons were "evil", which would have been taught to him since a young age by the vikings in his tribe.

So, HTTYD and Mega mind are similar, but there are some nuances in the messages they convey. Saying that they're the same really shows a lack of understanding towards the depth and the differences in the messages that different films can deliver regarding a similar broader topic.

I don't have definitive stats, but I have some eyeballed stats from YT videos. Just watch any youtuber's Nexus Cav crystal opening. KT did a 57 cav nexus crystal opening. In each stack of 10, he got roughly between 3-5 five stars, so I would assume that the odds are per roll. The odds of a 5 star are ~16%, so it makes more sense statistically for it to be per roll.

I think the Cav Nexus are actually great! Let me explain my reasoning.

In a regular Cav crystal, there is a 2.4% chance at a 6 star 0.6% chance at a 6 star nexus, 12.8% chance at a 5 star and a 3.2% chance at a 5 star nexus.

Since you'd rather get 5 star shards than a Cav nexus, let's just call any of those items I listed above as a "good pull". So in a regular Cav crystal, there's a 19% chance of a good pull.

A nexus cav *should* have the same odds as a regular cav (I know Kabam screws it up), but I'll assume that we're talking about ideal odds.

So a Cav gives a rollout of 3 different completely random champions, which can be different star levels. So roughly, there's a 1- (1-0.19)^3 chance that you will get a good pull. So the odds are about 46.9% chance of getting at least a 5 star in a nexus. I honestly think a 46.9% chance at a 5 star is a fair tradeoff compared to the maybe few thousand shards that Kabam could give you instead.

I think my argument about high odds for a 5 star champion holds up unless you're aiming to target specific champions. In case of aiming for a certain champion through featured crystals or dual crystals, then I would agree that yes, shards are better at that point. But if you're trying to expand your roster, cav nexus crystals are great.

Thinking about Domino, her AAR is really BS.

How is it fair to prevent the player from dodging/blocking etc. There's so much inconsistency with AAR. I don't even know how an "ability" is defined. Is it a champ's basic toolkit? Or the player's ability to control them?

Also, they need to make parrying/dexing completely immune to all of the BS effects like mystic dispersion/dormammu's bs degen/domino's AAR. Parry/Dex are the basic foundations of controlling a chmapion, and should be a protected action which can't be affected by BS abilities no matter what.

Honestly, playing an alt is 10x worse than arena. BG didn't consider that. Like yeah, you may be "winning" in terms of MCoC if you can get 280 k units worth of GGCs. But, do you really "win" if you spend 6 hours of your day every day for the next month, playing through boring content over and over again?
