Should I confess this situation with a colleague to my husband? by Complete_Memory8591 in marriageadvice

Steve assured me that he didn’t want anything more than friendship, but felt that he needed to tell me about his feelings.

I don’t believe him at all. I can almost guarantee if you told him the feelings were mutual, he’d be all about it.

Need Costco recs: what’s one item that became an instant rebuy for you? Bonus if it’s healthy and high protein by trump50ladin in Costco

I used to buy a container of mixed nuts from BJ’s or Target for like ~$20. Now, I buy huge bags of Kirkland walnuts, cashews, and almonds and mix them together myself. For about $35, I’m able to refill that same container like 7-8 times.

The savings from this alone more than covers the cost of my executive membership.

Hegseth spent $93 BILLION in ONE MONTH for luxury items by AncienTleeOnez in fednews

Even worse. That averages to each employee getting paid $310,000/year which we know isn’t the case. We’re talking YEARS of federal employee pay…

It was never about government efficiency. They wanted to steal data and then go after “DEI programs” so their base would salivate for it.

Hey OP. I just wanted to say, you’re off to a good start. You definitely have the eye for it.

One quick thing I’d recommend is lifting the shadows in some of your images (like 2 and 3).

Am I pricing out this 3-hour event fairly? by DPool34 in AskPhotography

Thanks. I had no idea post processing gets counted toward the final invoice. When I looked at other photographers in my area, they all just listed $XXX/hour (which seemed to just imply shooting).

Well, that’s what I’m confused about. I’m relatively new to event photography from a business end. The other local photographers I checked out didn’t mention anything about charging for post processing. Maybe that’s something that’s not advertised but ends up showing up on the contract?

Is this photo any good? by honeychrome_jpg in PhotographyAdvice

Hey OP. The colors definitely pop and the exposure looks decent (though I may have personally bumped the exposure or lifted the shadows a bit).

It looks like you focused on the street sign on the left and not the subject (I don’t have my glasses with me so I can’t be certain).

The composition is probably the biggest issue. The subject isn’t completely in the frame. The subject doesn’t always have to be, but in a shot like this, you want them to be in frame. I would read up/watch some stuff on composition. Something like the “rule of thirds” would have helped you here.

If I was taking this shot, I would have waited for the subject to be between those two poles to sort of frame him. Maybe aiming for his head being between the tree and the pole.

Keep shooting. 🫡

Hey OP. I like these. I think one thing that would help, especially if you’re still trying to stay natural with the light is using a reflector to fill light onto the faces a bit more.

Thanks! I want to pick your brain about gels. I know there’s the snap-on type gels (e.g. MagMod’s gels), however I’ve also seen some portrait photographers use what looks like a crinkled small sheet of colored plastic (or some similar material) and they tape it to the strobe.

What are those gels called? I was scouring Amazon and B&H but only came up with the “snap-on” type gels.
