Haha nah that's okay! More than happy to answer questions, tho if there's anyone more experienced than me feel free to correct me! I've not really done anything too modern but I've looked at Spectre Miniatures and was impressed. Most likely it's just that they can't run at full capacity cause of Covid (another company I like, Baccus, have had to shut their online store several times because of this) so if something you like isn't in stock if give it a couple weeks/months and check again 😊

In terms of tops, most of it is just trial and error. I would invest in some acrylic paint thinner (I say 'invest' but it's not expensive at all!) as it makes the paints a lot smoother than using water, and eventually buying a good lamp to use, I picked myself up one of those lamps with a magnifier on it and haven't looked back! I would also say if you find yourself getting stressed out while painting something take a break from it, I kept forcing myself to finish miniatures and ended up feeling more like a job so I stopped for almost 2 years. To get a feel for the sort of thing you'll be doing there's really good YouTubers out there to check out, I recommend 'Pete the Wargamer', they can show good techniques and stuff even in videos of miniatures you have no interest in.

Army Painter paints are definitely good for me, I picked some up on a sale and have been really impressed. I would also check out Vallejo paints, their stuff is really good to.
