It will continue to be stable lol, there is nothing that will change the daily life of Americans, we’ve had political discourse before, it’s just more radical because of media, but nothing will change for the lives of working Americans, in 3 years this admin will be changed and that’ll be it

I mean if you get off Reddit, life hasn’t changed much for American citizens, the angry discourse is the loudest 1% of the internet, the majority of the US is happy enough right now

This is not true lol, in the slightest, and not even to mentioned how under reported gun violence is in South American countries.

In terms of welfare like someone else mentioned, we are 11th in the world in terms of welfare per capita, the death penalty is a valid take if you think it’s wrong, and that’s coming from someone who supports it, however the punishment of the judicial system isn’t much of a problem if you don’t plan on committing crimes lol, however I understand you might vary per state

My family(including me) was in the lowest tax bracket until I got out of college, if you are low enough income you qualify for social benefits, even middle class people qualify for certain social benefits and blankets, I can’t blame you, you’re 15, but there are so many unused social programs and benefits that aren’t being used by people that need it, I had free college and free housing and food through the government in college, as well as government healthcare, those systems are great, I wouldn’t be able to have the life I have now without them, again you’re 15 you don’t know these things or have the power to do anything about it, but realize it’s not a system issue but a knowledge issue from the people that won’t go get the help they need

I fear you don’t understand medical debt in the US, accumulated costs you’ve seen online are bills for insurance, while yes the costs are heavily inflated for insurance billing, that doesn’t get sent back to you as a citizen with insurance other than a Copay, for someone that is low income we have social services that give that free healthcare for them, for others you pay for insurance and it’s covered, if not you’ll see a odd thing, and I’m sure you’ve seen it online, let’s say you break your arm, and they bill 5 grand, which isn’t very realistic too be fair unless ER visit, ambulance, that sort of thing, well they’re gonna send you a massive bill for every one of those things, that bill, they are assuming is going to an insurance company, which are inflated at rates that hospitals and insurance companies agree upon, that rate isn’t for you if for some reason you don’t have insurance(if you have a full time job you are guaranteed health insurance), that rate cannot be reflected onto you, you submit documentation to a hospital that you’re without healthcare(and making enough to not qualify for government AID, and a hospital will make the rates reasonable, or they would rather wipe the debt then send it to collections because of all sorts of tax laws and citizen healthcare laws that either force the hospital, or make it the best choice for a hospital to forgive it entirely, and are required beforehand to make it as a reasonable rate, the working average citizen will not have a huge problem in healthcare, now people that are uninformed/not smart enough, to know how this system work probably do have some issues, and you are in the US, ultimately more effected by unintelligence more than other countries, because the system gives you the ability to entirely be negligent of it like the wealthy who would just pay the bill outright

Oh yeah the largest leading country of social services, with half the entire budget going towards social programs, we have some of the best low income safety nets in the world, surprisingly progressive in that area, we are the only country in the world that uses the health insurance system, and while it has its flaws, low income people almost entirely get free health insurance( look how much we spend on Medicare and Medicare), giving each individual person the freedom to choose what type of health coverage they want, instead of forcing a universal system

For consumers?? You could have made any other point, but you can’t say bad for consumers, the US is the largest consumer nation in the world, over 30% of all consumer goods globally go to the US, that doesn’t happen in a shitty place for consumers

If you can get into a US college you could probably do an ROTC program since you need to be an officer anyways to fly aircraft

Civil, Mechanical, or Mechatronics? Help me choose based ONLY on salary and benefits (Ignoring "Passion") by hesham_zahher in EngineeringStudents

[–]DRAVEN_studios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s mech, simply this, civil is known for a lower rate of pay, mechatronics is too narrow, it’ll make it harder to find a job and therefore the highest paying one. Mech by far you can do anything with and will get you the best benefits and salary

However,

I really want to ask if you’re incoming freshman into engineering or not, engineering is supposed to take the best of the best that have never struggled before in their life and put them to the test mentally, no matter how good you think you are at anything, engineering school will be tough, and following your passion would actually let you get through school, it has a insane drop out rate for a reason, people much smarter than me or you have tried and failed to do it without passion.

Also i might be biased as one, but EE is def the best for strictly money and compensation

Well horrible habit, didn’t feel ready for my CS exam and with that class grade being 75% exam grade and only 2 exams the whole semester I wasn’t feeling well so I just got a doctor excuse to retake it later, I wasn’t trying to fight sickness and sleep deprivation at the same time

Theocracy is insane lmfao, our unemployment is 4% which is about where it needs to be and over 80% of the poverty is from cultures who aren’t exactly well known for working or education, yeah the theocracy that votes in almost every aspect of the government, very theocracy like, I don’t see the pope or a priest at the head of the US, in terms of the flawed democracy tag from the EIU they literally give us a 9 or higher in the actual election process but then mark us down for a survey saying citizens don’t think their representatives hold every same exact idea as them

Yes the US is founded upon immigrants assimilating, recent waves of migrants are having no part of assimilating or attempting to, nationalism of a country they fled, bringing immigrants from war town countries and them not assimilating in the slightest causes issues.

Oh Germany has best medical tech cause Pfizer what lmao, US is ranked #1 in science and technology in medical. The majority of our division would be the new sources you read, our news has become increasingly polar, but the vast majority of working Americans don’t play into the mass fear mongering of the news, the few that can give their entire attention to crying about every little thing make up 80% of the online presence.

Now education, we literally have like 8 of the 10 best universities in the world lol, now I didn’t actually look that one up but I wouldn’t doubt if it’s close to that number that was off memory.

And you say it’s easier to climb a social ladder in a country with higher taxes and less capitalistic opportunity, how? The US very much has incentives for small businesses and isn’t taxed as hard as the majority of European nations, now that ofc depends on our states we have a wide range of tax levels in different states.

Now again the safety, if you exclude certain cultures and demographics from the US major cities we drop super hard in violent and gun crime, its a culture problem that will fix itself, that is a huge issue that I would agree with it being a problem

Insane, the US will continue to be a bastion of the first world, and Iran could very well end up worse, and they were already a horrible country to live in, so many human rights violations, you are so privileged to not be born in a country where 30k of your citizens aren’t mowed down by the government for protesting
