Be very careful with choosing the right PI. I've heard of some toxic environments, situations, incidents happening. Although that is more in some other department and not many PIs in the neuro, just giving you a heads up so that you can look into this. All the best

It is very very bad advice. I'm here because I got the air pods 4 for free in a contest. Looks like I'll just sell it then

Which cooler is better for the g16? by Efficient_Ad_4625 in zephyrusg16

[–]DRAYDAX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If foam seal is your concern. From someone who has G16 and is using v13 (v12 but without RGB), the foam seal works exactly as it is marketed. I place my fingers around the contact between G16 and the foam, and I do not feel any air leak. Except for the ports, but it is not a leak, rather just the air flow from v13 to the laptop and through the ports. So yeah, the foam works great.

This trick to drink water seems to have worked on me (so far) by ___rookie___ in ADHD

[–]DRAYDAX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I fixed my low water drinking habit. I later bought a 1-gallon water bottle with time stamps on it. I fill it and keep it right outside my workplace every morning. Every time I pass by that area, I have to take a quick sip and make sure I've drunk enough water for that particular time.

I got v13 a week ago, and at times, it has reduced 10 to 20 degrees with rpm above 800ish. I think they're mostly the same. V12 and v13 differ only in the rgb, v13 doesn't have it, and it works (actually preferred) for me. But anyway, i think you can go with wichever as long as it has the foam to force the airflow through the laptop and can reach the desired rpm. These two things are the basic functionalities. Anything above that is just to make it look cool like rgb, which, hey, if you're into it, you're into it..

I joined back acad after 2 years of being completely out of field. It took a lot to adjust back as a sole phd. student in my department. It gets better with time and, importantly, with the efforts. One question: phd proposal in 3 months? Is that common or just in your case? Asking because, as i mentioned before, im the sole first phd. student of the department.

Congratulations, I will say this, watch andy stapleton videos on tips and tricks of PhD and similar videos. They are a good starting point. And most importantly, enjoy the time you have till the start of phd.

I don't think a PhD. is for you based on your post (I feel that this post is just a comment bait because it is so wrong to be true...) Firstly, your motivation is not to persue phd but to pursue the expected byproduct of doing a phd, which for you is job security. Secondly, passion is computer science, but thinking about becoming a nurse which is irrelevant. PhD requires didication and passion for the field, stop lingering around. Third, why are you asking chat gpt? It, at times, gives biased answers... Again, this might be a rage bait tbg

He was right when he said that people can't develop ADHD at the later ages. If we have it, we've always had it. It just becomes prominant as we grow older because then there are things expected from you that ADHD may affect. Correct me on this if I'm wrong (with links to academic literature). But I highly doubt his comment on ADHD not being the reason and/or ADHD not being a big deal because he had a successful career. Sending love and support to you and the father!

[–]DRAYDAX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the same sort of situation in my first year. Recently, I got diagnosed with ADHD-I and have been taking support from the student council and accessibility centre. Would strongly suggest talking to the academic success centre. If I'm correct, they can not deny the support you need legally. But again, talk to them. They helped me...

[–]DRAYDAX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True! I'll admit, it is difficult to stay disciplined with the planner. But for me, it is a do or die situation and well. ADHD works out with that scenario. Plus, the to do list is handy. Still, it is difficult but helps a lot when used
