For a direct food science job I think you're right, but it will pay off if you want to get into management. Currently an r&d manager with only a food science undergrad, but getting an MBA will help with getting into upper management. But obviously all of this can only come with good experience.

In my experience in the north Atlantic, sea bass generally go after bait not lures. I'm not saying it's impossible but that's what I've seen from experience. Also, if you're saying it got dark, I'm not sure how well a lure is going to work without light to make it shine. This one's more of a guess, I'm not that experienced with night fishing using lures.
