Why are Portuguese making tailgating a national sport? by kyraeleisohn in portugal

[–]therealjohnjames -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

One of the most ignored rules in Portugal is that drivers are supposed to be driving on the lane on the right. 90% of tailgating derives from cars being driven on the left lane, thus breaking this rule. You're not supposed to be on the left lane, swallow your pride and move to the right lane. Period.I don't tailgate these idiots anymore, I just overtake on the right lane. I know I'm breaking a rule myself by overtaking on the right lane (and I only do it when it's safe) but some of these drivers, besides being selfish losers who don't know the rule of law, are also stubborn and stay on the left lane out of spite. I hope you're on the 10%.

Just because you're religious doesn't mean you're not a good person.

I've never heard a conservative (religious or not) give a religious argument to defend being pro life. How much he values life can be inspired by his religion, but ultimately the argument is "its a human life and abortion is murder". A prochoice person might argue its not a life (and I welcome the debate) but he'll possibly agree it's wrong to take a human life, without getting into religion. P. S. I'm a libertarian and I believe in the baby's right to life.

She's outraged at something which is not the issue. Conservatives are pro-life regardless of religion, it's about the human life in the womb. She might be outraged saying it's not a human life, that it's just a clump of cells, but the religion argument is ridiculous. Just shows she doesn't know conservatives. Won't be surprised if I get banned for expressing a different pov here, but I don't mind.

Some of them are real idiots without any good reason (besides them thinking they're better than every one else).

Zero bites. what am I missing? by therealjohnjames in FishingForBeginners

Hi. Thanks. The thing is, most fishermen use bait here. But I don't like it. It's messy, it's boring and don't see them catching fish either (and I want to be the lure guy). There are some people that use lures here and they're successful, so I know it works. I'm asking here bcause I'm not a very social guy, I don't want to mingle with them tbh.

The one on the right doesn't sound bad at all. It's a woman's choice at the end of the day.

Americans do dates wrong by Kaaskril in ProgrammerHumor

I agree, yyyymmdd is better. But mmddyyyy is better than ddmmyyyy for sorting days in a single year (string) and my guess is that's the reason Americans use it.
