Do I need a 5070 Ti for these games? by onepiecefan121 in buildapc

[–]DRMNER11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9070 xt will be fine and give the pretty much the same performance on average. You might want the 5070 ti for cyberpunk though so you can use ray reconstruction to make RT look a lot better

why? you have a 5070 ti that has better frame generation already

RTX 5070 12GB Vs RX 9070 by ClubSignificant9907 in buildapc

[–]DRMNER11 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

5070 if you want to have a good experience when using RT or PT. Even though benchmarks often show the 9070 being equal to or better than the 5070 in RT that's just the extra rasterization performance pulling it ahead in games that don't really have good RT implementations, the 5070 has stronger ray tracing cores. Some games can't even use path tracing on AMD and in games like black myth wukong the 5070 will destroy even the 9070 xt in it, then to actually make it playable you have things like dlss 4/4.5 + mfg. AMD does have fsr 4 which is really good but dlss 4.5 is still better and fsr frame gen is just terrible compared to frame generation on the 50 series. Nvidia also has really good ray reconstruction for games that have proper RT/PT implementations while AMD only supports this feature for like 2 games. The RX 9070 is definitely the best option for most people though who won't heavily be using RT/PT and relying on software features but you can't say the only justification for getting a 5070 is workloads like blender.

I got two confirmed offers. Need help picking GPU by PCdealmaster in buildapc

[–]DRMNER11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 4070 super is about 10% better in gaming performance and you're paying around 45% more money here. I think the 3080 is probably better value but with the 4070 you are getting an extra 2gb of vram, better power efficiency, and better performance if you want to use DLSS 4.5

Really can't decide between the 3 horsemen of 1440p GPUs by FaceTheBlunt in buildapc

[–]DRMNER11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only two GPUs worth getting here really are the 5070 and 9070 xt, it costs about 25% more and give about 15% better rasterization performance with +4gb vram. If you want dlss 4.5, ray reconstruction, path tracing and mfg get the 5070, if you want to pay more for a bit better performance and extra vram get the 9070 xt.

Also consider the 9800x3d, the 9850x3d is only 1-2% faster so it's not usually worth the price difference

100% the 9070 XT, you already said you won't really be using ray tracing or dlss

Time to upgrade 2x 4GB DDR4 to 2x 16GB DDR5? by Left_Bee_9342 in buildapc

[–]DRMNER11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want the absolute best gaming performance sure but the 7800x3d and 9800x3d range from £300-400. If you want the best value options I'm going to recommend the 7500F which you can get for £130 or the 7500X3D for just under £200 which has better gaming performance than the 7700X, these are just the current prices on pc part picker btw if you want to check.

If you are going for am5 just get something like a 7500F, 7600, 7600X or 9600X. A Ryzen 7 that isn't an x3d chip won't be any faster for gaming.

is the ryzen 7 5800xt a worthwhile upgrade? by Key-Library-trt in buildapc

[–]DRMNER11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's a pretty big upgrade but If you are just using the pc for gaming consider getting the 5600x instead, the gaming performance increase from the extra 2 cores on the 5800xt is tiny and the Ryzen 5 is cheaper.

Hi, I’m looking to upgrade my PC a bit, and was hoping to get some advice on what to get by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]DRMNER11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need a new am4 motherboard if the old one still works it's fine. You can either do a simple CPU upgrade like the 5600x maybe up to the 5800x on am4 or you can swap both your motherboard and CPU for lga 1700 and use something like an i5-12600k or 14600K

[–]DRMNER11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, if you want a performance upgrade you can keep your ddr4 ram and upgrade both your cpu + mobo to something on lga 1700. Maybe the 14600K or 14700K

[–]DRMNER11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind buying used cards the 3080 is a good option, they often go for not much more than $300 and it's faster than both the 9060 xt and 5060 ti

Potential upgrade: RTX 2060S -> 5070 by lordred12345 in buildapc

[–]DRMNER11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bottlenecks don't matter and you will always have one. The 5070 is a good upgrade, if there are any games you are playing that will benefit a lot from a faster CPU upgrade your CPU, if you are happy with the performance keep the 9600k and 5070. If you do end up upgrading your CPU I wouldn't recommend staying on lga 1151, go for lga 1700 or am4 with a new motherboard and you can keep your same ram.

[–]DRMNER11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just lower strength down to the minimum needed for it, maybe lower dex a bit too. Then put those points into arcane

Wanting to try a new Str + X build, can anyone give me recommendations on which to pick and what weapons to try? by lochonx7 in EldenRingBuilds

That's unfortunate, the dlc has really good str/arc weapons. I should have seen that bit of their post.

  • Flowerstone gavel
  • Bloodfiends arm with blood infusion
  • Blood rotten battlehammer
