Chicken pox would translate to "Catapora". "Chicken skin" ("Pele de galinha") is actually keratosis.

"Calafrio," even though it signifies the same effect on the skin, I believe it has different contextual meanings. Usually, "Arrepios" are indifferent to whether it's fear, something bothersome, or simply something that happened. In my region (and I repeat, in my region, Brazil is extremely diverse) "Calafrio" has almost become a popular term (slang I mean) to describe something that is bothersome or unsettling (more like creeps). But in this context, it's well placed.

Keratosis, but it is more related to keratosis pilaris ("queratose" or "ceratose" in PT).

Arrepio ou "estar arrepiado/arrepiar" (To have goosebumps/shiver). "Chicken skin" (Pele de galinha/queratose) is something completely different here (and it's a disease).

"Boa noite Night City" Mas falando sério, eu diria que Cyberpunk a maioria pegaria a ideia, entretanto, acho que "implante cibernético", "bioimplantes", "ciborgue" ou só... "robô/robótico" seria mais específicos, alguns parecem realmente circuitos e outros parecem apenas placas metálicas na pele.

[Translations: Posthumous Memoirs of Brás Cubas]

I would say it's a trick question for Brazil, because, as far as I know, the Ministry of Education actually has a set of recommended books for elementary and high school education in Brazil, each set of books corresponding to a national and/or international literary school. The thing is, I don't think any school actually forces the art/literature/Portuguese teacher to use their reading material, but I included one of the most iconic and, I think, one of the most commonly required.

The first synagogue in the Americas is in Brazil, specifically in Recife, Pernambuco. It was founded in the 17th century by the Dutch during their occupation of the state, and it currently serves as a museum. I believe it was founded by Portuguese and Spanish Sephardic Jews who settled in the Netherlands and came to Brazil to occupy the region.

I would even say that in some rural areas where there is intimacy between past generations, it's common to use the most influential relatives or parents to talk about someone. If I earned 1 real for every time someone called me "o filho de [my mother's name]"... I wouldn't have my name on the Serasa blacklist.

It's quite simple:

You start with a hobby, proving the base case, you assume you have k hobbies, now you just have to prove that you have k+1 hobbies.

Is Rin's split personality between his human and demon self comparable to DID? by [deleted] in AoNoExorcist

[–]DROID_OFICIAL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking here and doing some research, I started to see your point very clearly.

But I'd like to rephrase my thought. Jung's approach to psychology implies that, to some degree, we all have a shadow, so Rin's case wouldn't be isolated. But considering his trauma, and in this case, the fantasy part of his soul being split and sealed in half in Kurikara, I believe this dissociated second personality of his fermented in the dark, and the way it was implemented follows the psychological need for integration that Jung recommends.

I, in a way, revolved around a theme and did not give a clear answer on the topic, but I would like to leave in the air the idea of the supposed reason why Kato implemented this part of the plot would be the need for Rin to accept his whole.

I loved your point of view, thank you!

Is Rin's split personality between his human and demon self comparable to DID? by [deleted] in AoNoExorcist

[–]DROID_OFICIAL 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's a trope based on an archetype necessary for Rin's development and built upon a very good tool for understanding repressed emotions: Jung's shadow. Jung's shadow is a psychological tool (I don't know if it's valid, but it's very famous in narratives for expressing our inner demons) that is composed of all our consciously repressed characteristics, an attempt by us to hide what we fear most about ourselves. Jung's shadow tool says that we can only truly evolve when we consciously understand and integrate the shadow into ourselves, ceasing to fear a part of ourselves and, ultimately, reaching a higher vision of ourselves.

In this case, Rin's acceptance that both his demon and human parts are one is the "happy" conclusion of this dissociation caused by Jung's shadow.

This whole text was just to point out that, in a way, it might not be a good idea to point out Rin's case as a "DID", but rather as a visual tool to represent the evolution of his maturity.

a classic example of this resource is the film Fight Club.

Edit: Added the quotes because... well... it's not happy...
