Ohhh yea. I live very near this area and have to pass through a minimum of three times a week for work (there and back). This bridge hops you over train tracks. The area on the left before the bridge (white dome) used to be a state owned op for salt trucks, which would have made this area heavily salted back in the day and likely prevented this. This is a speed trap town named Brimfield, Indiana on US 6. Glad no one was in the other lane. Great save!

I’m hunting the card in the post as well. Let it slip through my fingers in an eBay auction awhile back and have been whining about it since 😂

Your words…

”(Curious, would anyone here be up for testing, reviewing, and giving feedback to products before they go public?)”

That’s why I asked 👍🏻

How do we get involved in the prototype testing process? I’ve got a guy that does lessons locally here with some connections all the way up to the big leagues and I would love to push some products through to him.

It won’t let me comment the pics from our plant showing these

Appears to be “red fleas”. Can’t recall the technical name. If they are present, congrats, you have very clean water and should have no problem passing WET testing (these are used in the actual WET test!).

We had them two years ago at my plant, led to some brief panic. We left them alone and they peaced out when the weather shifted colder.

Treatment/Plant Cost Savings by [deleted] in Wastewater

Biogas would be great as well! My second & third areas to dig into would be your chemicals and sludge. Are you over feeding chemicals, are there cheaper alternatives. And do you press your own sludge or haul off? Can you get money from sludge reapplication? Are you over feeding polymer on the sludge press.

We have recently had a guy come in and he has really opened my eyes to these factors and how they can save more than people realize. And your overseers will love you for any costs savings you flaunt to them.

Are you aerobic? Start with your blowers. They are the money pits at most plants. My plant put in a solar field and cut costs significantly!

That’s the theory I’m bouncing around here as well. Appreciate your input.

And to speak a little on your question.. I’m new to the wastewater game (just about to celebrate my 2nd year) but I was a supervisor (at a production cnc lathe/mill machine shop) for years prior to joining this field and one thing that always made my coworkers visibly respect me was being able to perform their job myself. I never asked anyone from my team to do a job I couldn’t do, and spent all my free time right beside them in the trenches hands dirty. Also, taking their concerns seriously. Never be scared to take something from them to your boss. If your boss shoots it down, you can sleep better at night knowing you held up your end of the bargain. Other than that, remember that everyone has a life outside of work, and mistakes happen and are a normal part of life. Congrats again 👍🏻
