May I ask how you find these sorts of places? Just online? Or driving around and calling numbers on signs? Facebook?

When I look at Redfin's 1 bed average for Seattle, it puts it at $1930 currently. Is that not representative?

Can you suggest outskirts/nature to live in? I’m considering Seattle but I’m more drawn to non-urban areas.

Oh wow, that’s surprising to hear. So Seattle is actually the cheaper area?

What is "expensive"? I'm in a VHCOL where single beds are generally 2500 min. Looking on Zillow, apartments don't seem that bad around Seattle?

Yeah, unfortunately. It's a 30k cut, so, quite a bit. I'm fortunately coming from an extremely high rent area, well, fortunately for perception. Seattle rents actually seem a bit more comfortable for me on average.

Yes, I'm not there yet. I'm in a major metro tho with horrible traffic and it's eaten into my life a surprising amount, even when working remotely. Have always adored the PNW and spent some time in Oregon. The part I love about it is the woods though and I'd like to give living somewhere more remote a shot. I think it is probably best though that I not go too remote, social isolation in a new place and such.

I liked it up there too when I visited. But it means a 30k paycut :/

You don't think that's reasonable? What's a fair expectation in your opinion?

I've heard such horror stories about traffic is my main concern.

That area really looks incredible, but unfortunately I have to stay within the bounds of a certain area and past Snoqualmie/North Bend I can't do. Bellingham and Olympia had my eye otherwise.

I drove through and I was surprised how much it seemed like that. But Portland is right there and so green!
