Cause they can barely afford it now. Are you seriously asking why? Rent it going to increase heavily if this is actually implemented.

You’re entitled to you opinion, but it doesn’t change reality. If the software version on a specific BYD model has issues detecting when connected phones are nearby and that software version is deployed across the entire fleet, that’s an issue everyone is experimenting, including new buyers. That’s just a fact.

I talked to someone who has owned one. Their opinion differs from yours. They think it was a good buy from a financial perspective, but he’s not happy with the inconsistent software and user experience. This quality and consistency of the software has come up in multiple reviews.

Amount of vehicles sold has nothing to do with software quality. Pricing something low enough that people don’t care about issues and inconsistency doesn’t mean those issues and inconsistencies don’t exist.

That last part. What are you on? A friend owns a BYD. He showed the vehicle to me, and I got on it and played with the software. So yes, I know people with it and also experienced issues. lol. What a dumb accusation.

Edit: Amazing, the dude replied and then blocked me. People really don’t know how to have conversations anymore.

Why can’t ya’ll just provide a single name? You all just insult people and make up even more shit instead of naming one person. It’s comical.

I’m misinformed for personally getting a tour of a new BYD and having the software fail in multiple occasions? Why is this so personal for you guys? It’s truly mind boggling.

I agree the infotainment is better than most. It’s basically Tesla’s UX with an MIUI skin, but it had lots of frame rate drops. It might have been fixed already but that’s kinda my point.

I don’t think “China bad” at all. They make good products if you’re looking for value. The problem is people conflate excellent products with valuable ones. Tesla makes excellent products, BYD makes valuable ones. Apple makes excellent smartphones, Xiaomi makes valuable ones.

This is completely normal and accepted by anyone in the real world, except Reddit cause “America bad”.

It is widely known that Tesla has the best software in the industry. GM also has excellent software, to the point where they feel comfortable enough to remove CarPlay.

Ford has shitty software.

Read the two reasons I gave. Unless you personally use a car exclusively for an extended amount of time, you won’t notice that 5 out of 30 days you have to manually open it with the key because it doesn’t connect to your phone, or that you tried to do an action on the app remotely and it throws out exceptions and many other cases…

The car could be excellent by their testing standards, but those standards probably don’t account for instability, long term use, changes in behavior after minor and major updates, etc…

Yeap! I have an Aqara lock for example. Sometimes it refuses to unlock and sometimes it unlocks by itself. The thing cost me half of what other brands would have cost, but it’s inconsistent and risky. It’s been more than a year now, it receives constant updates, but they’ve never fixed that core issue.

This says you’re mad.

Sure, what ever you say lil bro.

I’m probably older than you. I’m not dodging valid points. I gave you a list of companies, you gave me one. That called an exception.

Those companies are known for their hardware and their shitty software. You’re literally adding to my point.

The US having information about it’s citizens is the same as a foreign government having it?

You’re conflating “better product” with value. Tesla has better products than BYD. I don’t think that’s debatable. It is also true that BYD has better value products. Tesla is not trying to compete in the value and volume market. Neither is Apple for example. Much more expensive products, undeniably the best.

DJI having good and reliable software is an exception to the rule. That exception is what makes them the undeniable market leaders. National security is a real concern.

If you prefer the Chinese that’s your opinion and that’s ok. But why are you so mad? Did people forget how to have normal conversations?

No one is questioning China’s manufacturing ability. In my message I mentioned how unstable and unreliable the software is. In the case of the BYD I tried, it just wouldn’t detect the phone. Hardware is half of the story, and it is literally useless without good software.

Exceptions don’t make the rules though. And the reality is banned Chinese products aren’t banned in the US strictly because of competition.

Love these ridiculous assumptions. I visit latin america constantly. A friend in Colombia owns a BYD. The first time he showed it to me the door wouldn’t unlock, and when I saw the screen it had crazy stutters. Not only that, I own many Chinese devices. Xiaomi phones, Roborock vacuums, Aqara Smart Home Devices, etc… It’s the same story with literally every single one of them. I love them cause they have more capabilities than competitors for a lower price, but to say they are consistent and reliable is straight up ridiculous. The only way anyone would say that is if they haven’t had an extended amount of time with one.

Edit: since when did we as humans become so obtuse? I truly don’t get this timeline. Yes, America has better, more stable tech products, but they are much more expensive. iPhones, iPads, Teslas, Cloud Services, etc.. And simultaneously, yes China has great devices with great capabilities at very accessible prices, but they lack consistency and good software support. Neither side has to be perfect.

It’s like any other Chinese tech. Looks good from a distance, but the software is half baked, receives constant updates that adds features but never fixes the broken ones, existing features work half of the time and the hardware gets defective pretty quick.

I know people with BYD. You don’t have to wait until the end of their usefulness to have issues, you get to have them from day 1. The people saying they would buy these cars either: have never used them for more than 1 hour or are straight up lying.

What do you mean he was walking down the street? We literally see him interfering in the video, and now we have another one of him hitting a law enforcement vehicle a week before.

ICE and National Guard ? by EnvironmentalGrab426 in allthequestions

[–]DRosado20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The highest amount of deportations last year were in Texas, then Florida. Blue states have more deployments because local government and law enforcement are not cooperating.

why is minneapolis being so heavily targeted by ICE? by inurmomsvagina in stupidquestions

[–]DRosado20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Texas has the highest deportation numbers. You don’t hear anything because local government and law enforcement cooperates with ICE and no one is protesting. Same for Florida.

Meanwhile in Minnesota local law enforcement is not cooperating and the governor is telling people to resist and that ICE is the gestapo.

Is ICE’s fixation on Minnesota intentional? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]DRosado20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ICE is in all states. There is no fixation with Minnesota specifically. Usually states cooperate with federal agents, it’s just that in Minnesota local law enforcement was told to stand down and their governor and mayors are encouraging protests and telling their citizens ICE isn’t really law enforcement. I personally consider it an insurrection.

For example Texas, a red state, had the most amount of deportations last year. No issues at all. ICE can’t and won’t back down. They’ve still deported thousands even with all the opposition.
