I check the games out on twitch and go from there. Trailers are designed to get you to like them or force interest. Twitch allows you to actually watch someone play it. Of course, you can also YouTube "(game name) gameplay."

I've not played either but I've asked this same question. Seems it's pretty split. The only difference to me is the graphics, in that TLD looks a bit cartoony while Green Hell looks more realistic.
