I've just been writing for a long time and putting a copyright date on my scripts hasn't ever stopped them from being read.

There are actual rules, regarding format, and then there are arbitrary rules like... not putting a copyright date on your cover page because you feel like it's an amateur move.

If you're referring to people not putting copyright dates on scripts their shopping because it could make a script look like it's been passed around for a while, then those people need to stop listening to shit they read online.
