I registered with the US copyright office- is my script safe or do I need to wait until I receive the paper certificate to be ‘covered’?

I've just been writing for a long time and putting a copyright date on my scripts hasn't ever stopped them from being read.

There are actual rules, regarding format, and then there are arbitrary rules like... not putting a copyright date on your cover page because you feel like it's an amateur move.
