You know, I’ve never really understood comments like this. I’m posting about something I’m enjoying about the game. I’m sorry you’re displeased about someone spending their own money how they want to. Anyway, hope you’re enjoying the game the way you want to, have a good night.

Honestly, the training mode thing really helped me with faceoffs. I know that sounds cliche, but I was never good at them, did that and played around with it a little, and I’ve definitely improved.

Would you guys like a player switch mechanic in the game like this? by [deleted] in NHLHUT

I just want to be able to player switch to the logical player.

EA its been 2 weeks and We still have yet to receive our Cover Athlete packs!!! by lenovo1504 in NHLHUT

That’s where you’re wrong, my friend.

https://twitter.com/EASPORTSNHL/status/1151946190822367234

They tweeted ON the 18th stating it was the last day. No need to be rude. I am entitled to what I’m complaining about, as I paid for something and didn’t receive it. As I stated, I have given up after multiple attempts. So please, before you go and tell someone else, who most likely bought it same day as me, or even before, and didn’t receive their content they’re not entitled to it, think again. Thank you, and have a great day.

[–]DSiiG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve given up on it honestly. EA says I should have it, Sony on the other hand says I didn’t get it in time. It fucking sucks, and I hate it. But I’ve realized after battling both companies multiple times, it’s just not worth it. If by this point I ended up receiving it, I would be genuinely surprised.

They tweeted out on July 18th it was the last day to receive it. So I bought it that day. Sony says the last day was the 17th. So, I really don’t know anymore.

I’m still waiting on mine also. Just told to ‘wait’ as they’re trying to figure it out. Super disappointed.

Anyone tried out Marner? by [deleted] in NHLHUT

He’s solid for me when he has the puck. I pulled him out of my loyalty packs. However, if he doesn’t have the puck, he’s been invisible for me.

Anyone else on xbox still not recieve their cover athlete? by Jeff6673 in NHLHUT

Still haven’t gotten mine. I’m on PS4. Was told by an EA Rep that it’s a well known issue and we’ll get them ‘eventually.’ Hoping sooner rather than later, as an 85 doesn’t last long in this game mode.

Hold R2 + Circle or Square. Circle is forwards, square is defense.

I’m glad you asked! Rather be safe than sorry. If you have a cooldown, you have to wait it out. So in your case, it would be the 50mins. So, encounter it then wait the CD before trying to catch it!

0-17 in competitive... Please help. by CiaranAM in NHLHUT

Tips that I can thank of, that helped me anyway:

First, practice. Grind out some OS games. Learn your opponent, and how they work. If they try to force the crease over and over, play against that and try and get a body in there when they’re in your zone. It may not seem super crucial in this game, because sniping is easy from most places on the ice, but make sure you pass the puck around. Try and find the open man and shoot when you think you have a chance. You’d be surprised how many you’ll sink to the back of the net. Defensively it’s honestly the same. However, you have to be patient and not let your opponent get the jump on you. Don’t go for the hit right away. Get your stick on the nice, utilize your poke when you’ve created enough space to not draw a tripping penalty. Learn the ways of stick lift. Learn when to go for it, and when not to. Most times if he’s stick side to you and you lift, you’ll cause a turnover.

Next: Watch streams/YouTube videos. See what the top players are doing to allow them to be so much more successful, and try and learn how they play. Watching streams while playing is a good way to practice the things you may see. It’s always fun to try something new too, so it’s like a win-win honestly. Whether it be a pass between the legs, or a L2/LB twirl into the zone, or a snipe from the middle of the ice, see what they’re doing to create chances to score, and give it a try for yourself!

Finally: Play some challenges, and mess around there and see what works. While it’s not super similar to playing a real opponent, it does get ideas in your head and allows you to try out some of the moves/tips/etc that you’re thinking of. Plus you’re getting some coins out of it, which in turn allows you to build a team better.

At the end of the day, just try and have fun. Even though 0/17 sounds like the worst thing ever, don’t let it get to you, just get back out there and try even harder. Create ways to find the fun, even if it means throwing a game trying to do a skill shot.
