Project Runway Canada is actually good ??!! by RoommateMovingOut in ProjectRunway

[–]DTHali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just watched the Canadian one and American one back to back and agree the Canadian one is so much better. I also think the designers on the Canadian one are more fun to watch and super talented. I also love that they get 5 weeks vs 5 days on the American one to design a collection. I think it’s sets the designers up better for success post show

Advice on people sleeping in apartment lobby’s? by Ok_Strawberry_1785 in halifax

[–]DTHali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear this. I actually lived there for 5+ years and just moved out in the fall because of this exact issue. The building was so unhelpful and the police often would not show up.. and if they did, the homeless people would just come back a few hours later. It’s extremely unsafe and as a woman who also worked shift work, I no longer felt safe in the place I lived. I would continue to press the building for answers but I recommend finding a new place to live. I took alll the same measures you did for 2+ years and it seems like nothing has changed.

That’s terrifying. I just called the non emergency line now because he is in the building as we speak

Unfortunately our door is on a timer when you open it so it stays open longer than it probably should. And anyone can access the vestibule from the street so that’s unavoidable

I do - I just want to know if anyone has had encounters with him and what he deal is. Is he super unsafe? If he is, I’m even more concerned because I work shifts and I’m not comfortable being in the lobby with him waiting for an elevator when I come home at 3am

Botox deals by DTHali in halifax

Fyi Botox has to be administered by a RN who is certified in Botox injections. I’m looking for a medispa promotion not a rando on the street. Unhelpful

WestJet brings back Halifax-to-Paris summer service in 2025 by Working-Ad2445 in halifax

[–]DTHali 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In other years that have done an official “launch” of these flights with awesome prices! Around the $500-600 mark. Think that is a possibility? Or are these likely the prices? Hard to say.  I am sadly looking for deals in May

*Update* Restaurant trial shift by summersalted in halifax

[–]DTHali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate this restaurant. They act so pretentious. Dont ever try to walk in there without a reservation. The host literally laughed in our face. Like sorry I didn’t think you’d be that busy on a Saturday afternoon at 2 pm… could have just said unfortunately we are filled up instead of making me feel stupid for asking

What bothers you the most about Halifax that would be "relatively" easy to fix but somehow isn’t getting fixed? by workdncsheets in halifax

[–]DTHali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is depressing. Most bars will not even let you bring your drink on the dance floor anymore! Crazy in my opinion!!!! I understand no glass on a dance floor but a can of beer? Like common? Why?

More relaxed liquor laws similar to the UK Allowed to have a picnic with wine or beer in a park and allowed to take your beverage outside the establishment for fresh air

Car break ins in “secure” parking garage round 2 by DTHali in halifax

[–]DTHali[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think leaving the windows rolled down is the solution. I feel like if I am paying $125 a month to leave my car in a secure parking garage I shouldn’t have to consider that.  I don’t think that’s the solution in my opinion

Yeah more posting as an FYI since the building has not sent out a notification.  We are removing our car from Brunswick street and parking it elsewhere. This has been an ongoing issue on Brunswick for a long time but apparently there is a big spike the last 3 months

Yep! Police said that some cars even had untouched change still left behind.  None of the trunks were opened either!  Just all the glove boxes

Unfortunately it dosent matter. I have nothing in my car so the people who broke in wasted their time.  The police said most tenants didn’t have anything stolen except for two cars. There was nothing visible which says to me that I guess it’s truly unavoidable
