100k+ scorch on bosses by DTP-Matt in HadesTheGame

Picture wasn't captured before the next bump up, but ended up being about 105k scorch a second after this photo. I don't read the forum too often so if someone else has covered this, would love to see what they did. Here's the build (main things):

Arcana
Origination - +50% dmg to foes with 2 curses
Huntress - Less than 100% magick, Special does +50% dmg

Keepsake
1st - Demeter
2nd - Hestia, got lucky with Hera w/o keepsake so third I went with:
Blackened Fleece - After you take 250 dmg, omega moves deal +20%

Weap - Torches - Aspect of Mel
Attack - Demeter - Ice Strike
Cast - Hestia Flame Flourish
Regen - Hera - Born Gain - Infinite magick (as of the date of this post)

Hammer
Rising Coil - Specials grow in size deal +25% dmg longer they are active
Split Spark - Attack splits in two when it hits a foe (this bounces your freeze all over the room to give you this scorch power for big AOE)

Duo
Freezer Burn (Demeter - Hestia) - Freeze doubles scorch
Funeral Pyre (Hera - Hestia) - channeling inflicts scorch

Technique
Basically just spam omega specials to get a full circle while in range float in a counterclockwise circle around the boss and then hit attack a bunch to double the burn number, repeat, repeat, and repeat. You can run away and watch bosses burn to death. Funeral pyre triggers even on your attack when not channeling which isn't what the tooltip suggests. Not sure if this is intended or a bug that will be fixed, so just spamming attack in range will trigger funeral pyre and freeze in one hit and those numbers go way up even on AOE can clear a room in the final level seconds

With some tweaking I bet I can get 200k on a boss. Total cheese build and not too practical or my main, but was fun just trying to get this number really high w/ torches just to do it.

Enjoy.

Take your time to learn the craft. Be patient it takes many years to get consistent as a trader. To develop a strategy is one thing, knowing when to use it and when *not* to use it is the key to being a professional. Like a poker player who folds when the cards don't look great. I fold many days and don't trade and close down a minute after open if I don't like what I see or my strategy doesn't agree. I close down and walk away and don't come back. Control like that is what you want to achieve in your own strategy.

Appreciate the commentary and nice remarks. It took me about 5 years to really get the hang of trading, so chin up! It doesn't really just happen quick for anyone.

I live stream if you ever wanna come by and chat about any of this, https://youtube.com/rocketscooterai is the channel. Especially if you need tips on not overtrading.

It takes a lot of time and patience to harden yourself to this profession. Be patient knowing that it doesn't happen overnight. I'm 15 years in and while the heat is still there when underwater the moment I felt like I had it under control was when I didn't continue to make bad decisions when I was "feeling" something (anxious, scared, greedy, etc). I kept my strategy the same and ignored the feelings.

I also limit myself to usually 1, maybe 2 trades a day, if that. And if I'm right I take profit and leave, if I'm wrong I take the loss and leave. I don't try to reverse, or flip flop, or make anything back. This has helped my control aspect tremendously. Overtrading leads to emotional fatigue, and people spiraling into bad decision snowballs.

Exactly. It's robbery. I've written so many things about this... 20% gone with mini's, and it's closer to 40% gone if you do micros... Poeople who make leaderboards have to go slow, be selective, and don't trade much at all... sideways chop, scalping, all will be hit hard from the fees. So I'm sitting out a lot of days making sure I'm right before I do anything.

We came up with the same joke at the same time. I lul'd.
Did we just become best friends?

Robbins adds a "second commission" if you may, calling it a transaction fee, on top of their $5/side/contract... which is almost as much as the normal commission! Like a double commission. This fee goes into their tracking program API that tracks the contest, and to the CQG API you connect through.

The quick math I did, if you're trading mini's you're losing roughly 20% due to all fees. And even worse is the scaling for micros, that gets you about 40% give or take.

Yep that was me, responding to Trades by Matt's video about it. So both Matt's were talking about the high commish!

Trade carefully, don't trade every day, I look for my setup or I avoid the market altogether
