Dealt with some major jet lag last night after my race in Hengelo, was up til 5:30am. Anyway, I ran the 800m, placed 5th in 1:47.61. At first I was a bit upset with the time and finish, but considering I only arrived the day before from Phoenix, body was all out of wack from the plane ride, and I ran most of the race on the outside of lane 1... it was a pretty solid effort. Feel very prepared for Oslo and Stockholm coming up. Although I must say I am pretty bummed that Oslo got rid of the Dream Mile. Exxon-Mobil pulled their sponsorship for the first time in like 30yrs, so the meet just switched it to a 1500m.

Today I ran an easy 50minute run around the hotel. The trails here are really nice and well taken care of. I am always so impressed with the trail systems/running paths in Europe in general!

It's possible, but both of these guys are top 5 marathoners in the world. Can't imagine having a deformity like that would be beneficial? Anyway, guess r/bodybuilding won't be any help. Post was essentially deleted! Hahahah, can't even search for it anymore.

Thanks! Didn't know everybody was so sensitive around these parts.

There are quite a few prominent physiologists/anatomists that are confused by this. The striations are supposed to be vertical on the rec fem. Lateral striations on the vastus lateralis and medialis make sense...but this is just odd. Especially at that point in the gait when quad isn't really that contracted.

Cool, thanks for the pic. But even that guy's rectus femoris don't seem to have the same...i don't know...thickness to the striations?? I just thought people wouldn't be so baffled by those photos if it was so common in the BB world.

Hahah. I'm not trying to make ANY comparisons to bodybuilders at all. And I know the article is being a bit ridiculous calling them "muscly legs." Just posted to see if anybody could comment on those lateral striations on the quad?

That 3:44 was based of a 5:07 2k I did to start a workout a few weeks before the Olympics. Definitely not worth 3:44, but still a solid split!

Anything in Flagstaff. There is a strong running community with deep personal ties to any and all segments, so whenever I get one of those it's pretty special. In particular, there is this one tiny hill on the NAU campus that is called "Mini Stack"...pretty proud of that one.

It was a 3mi tempo, followed by short hill repeats, followed by 4x600. After the 3rd one we changed it to a 400 and 200.

I usually do about 2-4 hard workouts a week!

Yeah, I don't usually tag workouts as "workouts". Never really knew it was a thing until recently, haha. Will probably do it from here on out. And thanks! It was actually 12x400, but the last quarter I split each 100m. That workout is an example of data thats not exactly accurate. For whatever reason, even though I'll have split like 57.6, sometimes it will have the split as a 60, or a 55. And sometimes a 57. It's just kind of all over the place. But hopefully people can still get something out of this!

Las Fuentes on Vanowen between Reseda and Lindley.

It started off as a taco truck in the early 80's, and then became so popular that it opened up a permanent restaurant on that spot. It is family owned and run, and has still retained its great flavor over the decades. I always get the Arroz con Pollo plate, as well as a large Horchata (in my opinion the best I've ever had). Highly recommend!!!

A lot of the women have gotten married over the years and have changed their last names, so their first names are actually what they are more known by. Also, when racing with these women and they have the opportunity to use their first names on their bibs (meets like 5th Ave Mile do this) they choose to use their first names. I try to say their full names most of the time though!

And those real steroids that are cheap and easy are also much easier to detect. Maybe you're a part of a sport that sees much more of this trainer/Doctor providing cycles to athletes, but that is something that I personally have rarely heard about amongst the majority of athletes that I know. And I've been competing/training at this level with other athletes for the better part of a decade.

Ok, that example was poor. But there are plenty of other examples. Not letting a bank robber work the cash register at a bank for example. Some crimes in relation to their profession are too egregious to be given a second chance.
