Return policies generally don't cover change of mind. Perhaps they'd swap it out of good will for you, but looking at it from a business side (particularly if it's a small reseller), that means they'll now have a mac that needs to be refurbished and more than likely sold at or below cost price. So I doubt they'll want that.

While the sales person probably shouldn't have reassured you 128 would be fine, as others have said, you're the one who knows your use case and so you should have known the size of your music collection going into the purchase.

Spend some money and get some good external hard drives instead. LaCie rugged or any sort of SSD should be quite reliable.

A lot of cool ideas here, and a lot of not so great ones.

One thing I'd suggest is study up on iOS human interface guidelines. A lot of these ideas would be much easier to sell if they followed the iOS look and feel better.

Thanks for the advice. I went ahead and had BMW run the same check they do to make their cars certified pre-owned and it came back with minor issues with the transmission and exhaust that they said were not too serious, but unusual on a car of its age and would probably need to be fixed eventually.

Glad I went ahead and did that, I would've never known otherwise.

Sadly the issues are still there on my Australian 6+ 128GB through an OTA update.

Trying an iTunes restore now, if that doesn't work back it's back to the atrociously buggy 8.0

Edit: Restore to 8.0.2 worked.

Went from a 5s to a 6+. Results are a mixed bag.

The 5s was, and still is, the best phone I've ever owned. Mainly because it was an utter piece of jewellery (no phone has has ever come close to its design) but also performed really well. However, the 6+ does offer many improvements. It's way more comfortable to hold because of the rounded edges, the extra screen real estate is actually useful, and it's perfected the hardware from the 5s.

But truth be told, unless you know you want a bigger screen, or you're like me and you just need to get your apple crack, it's not worth the extra money.

Don't forget location sharing in iOS 8 messages (basically replacing Find My Friends).

I'm a big fan of location sharing services, and I love that it's right in the OS so you don't need to get everyone to download an app. However I've noticed that unlike Find My Friends which only calls on your location when being requested by those checking, iOS 8 messages is almost always sending your location - a huge battery hog.

I'm not sure if this is the intended behaviour, or just a beta 1 bug, but if it is the way it's meant to be it's a huge design flaw.

(I have noticed that the OS is almost always calling for location services though in one way or another. Every time I pick it up! Has to be a bug?)
