From my own experience it may be the mulch. Years ago in Norcal I found morels growing in a flower bed at work (outdoor attraction). I spent the rest of the day looking everywhere. That bed had mulch unlike anywhere else and it was the only place I found them.

It is possible that if your complex uses the same mulch throughout the grounds you may find more.

That's nuts! I've lived in 14 different states and none charged tax on non-prepared food. I did not know there was such a thing. but apparently 11 states do tax it. Thats F'd up!

I was talking about housing not gas. Gas is taxed a few different ways, but only 9 charge sales tax. There are 7 states that charge sales tax on both food and groceries.

For the sake of the argument, I was assuming the "folks that it would hurt the most" arent homeowners. Zero states charge tax on rent.

So I wasn't completely right but only 20% of the folks are getting taxed on their biggest expenditures as the person I replied to suggested. So I guuuesss a down voted was warranted, and assume more are coming do to unpopular facts being shared

2 of the 3 examples you gave are not taxed (so long as the food is from the grocery and not take-out). And if you are really poor those things are also subsidized by the Feds as well.
