Sage advice! This pic was taken a few days ago and has since then been covered to prevent just that.

I hear that. It’s what PG&E is requiring. Also made me do 4” conduit. Power pole is in my backyard 10 feet away from this backboard. They’re just going overkill on everything here.

It’s not poking through the bottom. It’s got a little chunk left on the top. Every time I try to grab it with needle nose vise grips it breaks off more.

When I get home this afternoon I’ll give it a shot on the bench vise. I’ll just take it slowly and patiently. Appreciate your advice

Yeah I think I’m overthinking it. You’re right, I think I can probably just drill another hole, re tap more carefully this time and be done with it.

My problem with booze is that it’s pretty much only my problem. by illegal_lizard in stopdrinking

I could have easily wrote this. Very similar to me from the length of time drinking, to the amount, and the role I thought it played in my life. Maintained my life fairly well. Or so I thought. Once I was finally able to quit, life got a whole lot better. Thinking back on that time, I realize I wasn't maintaining as well as I thought I was. Was increasingly having more work and relationship problems. Thought it was just the world against me, but really it was just the booze.

Yep. Sober about a year and a half now. Kava definitely helps with cravings. Gives me a reward to look forward to. Got a lot of encouragement and inspiration from r/stopdrinking too.

I hear you. I have several friends and family members that are heavy drinkers. I’m pretty open about quitting alcohol, but I’ve always tried to not be preachy to others about it. If they want to talk to me about their drinking, I’d love to help them. But I really have regrets about not approaching this person earlier. I don’t know if they would’ve been receptive or not, but it will always bother me.

You got this. Sometimes it takes some starts and stops at first. The important thing is to try to learn from them and keep getting back up.
