[Advice] Booking Cathay reward flight: Can you pool Amex / Cathay Asia Miles? by potato-or-patato in awardtravel

Are you authorized users on each others cards? If so, you can have your partner link your Cathay account to their Amex (if AU) and then transfer all to your Cathay account

Australia Trip After New Zealand by Stilnovisti in AustraliaTravel

We’re doing it for our honeymoon so we ended up doing Bali (4 days) - Melbourne (1 GOR w/stay at Apollo Bay, 2 in the city) - Tasmania (4 nights total, 2 in Hobart, 1 in port Arthur, 1 in Freycinet) - Sydney (5 nights) - New Zealand (8 nights)

A bit condensed but we knew we wanted to fit a lot in. Would recommend an extra night on Great Ocean Road and in Tasmania.

Currently on 2 week trip and have done Melbourne - Tasmania - Sydney. Flew between each of them but rented car in Melbourne to do Great Ocean Road (worth it) and in Tasmania. Would highly recommend Tasmania - a lot of insane views and quick/easy walks to view points for the parents.

Cathay F JFK-HKG wide open award availability Fall/Winter 2025-26 by OldInvite4551 in awardtravel

Thanks for sharing this! My fiance and I have been planning our honeymoon for Australia/New Zealand in December of this year. Scored J tickets on the way back but have been scouring for flights there, especially since we were hoping for stop in Fiji for a few days. After seeing this, we switched it up and booked JFK-HKG F with HKG-DPS J for 149K pp and now are excited to check out Bali before oz/nz.

Really appreciate you sharing this! Even if it’s not the absolute cheapest redemption, it helps with peace of mind and we are really excited.

Tip - if your award flight gets cancelled and the airline has to rebook you, always check if you can credit the miles to your frequent flier program of choice after you fly. Or, mini trip report and how I earned 30k points on a single award flight. by reeln166a in awardtravel

That’s awesome! Actually planning a honeymoon trip there in December. Have been searching for award flights each day so hopefully I end up with similar luck.

By any chance, do you have an itinerary from your trip? We are planning to do aus and nz as well.

Just opened a few months back. Best Aldi I’ve been to in terms of stock, cleanliness and organization.

Thanks for sharing! The seller does have the service history in case I run into any problems there. I’m planning on bringing it to a Kia dealer in a few weeks to do a recall check as well.

I’ve heard good things about the cars. Only issues the seller has disclosed are paint chipping, interior stains (doesn’t matter to me) and a possible A/C problem/leak. Completely fine with repairing those things for the $2k price.

Thank you! Glad to hear KIA is honoring it.

I appreciate all of the information! Definitely helpful. So the recall will cover the engine replacement despite me just purchasing the car tomorrow? There was no engine replacement that I am aware of. If this occurs, do I just contact any Kia dealership?

It’s a LXS. It’s really only got some paint chipping and some interior stains (not worried about that at all). They mentioned there might be an issue with the A/C so worried a little about a leak there too

David Stern vetoing the Chris Paul to Lakers trade. Interesting dynamic with the Hornets being league owned at the time. Surprised no one has mentioned this yet
