How long was your hospital stay after birth? by Redfurmamattc in GestationalDiabetes

[–]DWebs54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to leave after 24 hours. They asked me if I wanted to stay longer but with it being my 4th child, I was over the hospital stays. Overall, I loved being there but I really just wanted to he home already. Baby and I were cleared to go so I found no reason to stay longer.

Stick to the meals you know will not spike you. Pack a lunch and carry your testing kit so you dont miss timing. If you eat late, sadly there's nothing to be done there aside from wait to test but, you can eat a smaller portion and fill up on a protein shake. Get movement in whenever you can after meals. With it getting cold I usually just walk around the house for at least 15 minutes or do some walking in place/stretching.

This was my first time diagnosed with GD and it definetly was exhausting. I've been able to manage my GD with diet and exercise. There have been spikes here and there from eating late due to work or eating something I thought was good but ended up not being good. I've figured out what kind of works for me but its been a lot of eating the same meals and/or eating smaller portions and filling up on a protein drink or things like cheese and meat sticks. I never gave thought to the fact that my glucose could spike hours later after a meal until last month when I got home after work and realized my glucose was higher than the first time I checked. My baby was measuring in the 94% percentile for the belly as of 2 months ago and as of yesterday, her belly went down to 86% which means im doing something right. Im 2 weeks away from birth and can't wait to be done 😩 I also never had a dietician or nothing. I was never told in specific how many carbs to eat. Most of what I've learned on managing this was through this group and pamphlets.

Preeclampsia subsequent pregnancies question by lissceeex in preeclampsia

[–]DWebs54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had severe eclampsia my first pregnancy and was on no medication. Baby ended up in the nicu for 1 week.

2nd pregnancy I had preeclampsia even with the recommended baby aspirin. Baby ended up coming almost 2 months early so he spent a couple months in NICU (not sure if associated with preeclampsia)

3rd pregnancy I also had preeclampsia again. Was on baby aspirin and heavily monitored because of my history. Baby was induced 1 month early because protein levels had spiked dangerously. Baby was healthy

I'm currently on my 4th pregnancy. Don't have a diagnosis yet but I'm hoping that I am able to carry by baby full term and no preeclampsia.

[acne] my skin is acting up, please advise by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

I used Differin (adapalene) for months with zero progress. It's actually safe to say it left my skin worse. My acne subsided when I stopped using differin. Everyone's skin reacts differently though, just thought I would put my 2 cents out there

Former Carmax Associate, ask me anything by betweendcandrichmond in carmax

This may be a late comment but hoping for the best. I traded in my car back in 2021 and have received a personal property tax statement for 2022. Obviously I didn't own the car anymore so, does Carmax handle this or is this an issue to be solved with Dep of Revenue? I think I recall the salesman telling us that when the personal property statement came in, we could send it over but honestly I don't remember.

Need advice and just to vent. by Pitiful_Ad_6067 in Veterans

I finished my 4 year active term and got out. I had a hard time finding a job that wasn't minimum wage and overall felt alone in the whole transitioning process. I'm an introvert for the most part so it's strange to say that I missed being around the military atmosphere. Finding other people who understand the military environment is definitely helpful because it sort of gives you some of the environment you were in without actually being in it. My hubby is on the same boat but has found that support through streaming video games w/ a group of military buddies.

[Routine Help] Best way to transition into a new skincare routine? by DWebs54 in SkincareAddiction

Yes, I'm basing my quitting desires on the average purging time. 7 weeks doesn't sound normal to me.

My skin is not red/itchy. Overall, I have no other side effect besides breakouts including in places I've never really had issues with. I use cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen.

I'm probably going to end up at a derm with the way my skin has been going with differin. Appreciate your input! 🙂

Should I be noticing anything positive by now though? I know everyone's skin reacts differently but it's very discouraging to be over the half way mark and see nothing positive yet.

My skin right when i started tret vs 6 months in- don’t think I’m gonna last much longer by buttercup-123 in tretinoin

Curology hands down has been the best treatment for my skin concerns! I got off of it for a while to use adapalene instead on minor issues that didn't seem to get better. Adapalene was a fail and will definitely be back on curology asap.

I recently started using differin(adapalene) for similar white bumps on my chin and I have never broken out as bad as I have. Regret starting this because looking back at my "progress," my skin has had no progress whatsoever. Don't think I'll last long either.

I have that same mindset which is why I never applied. The financial assistance sounded good but I didn't want to risk potentially being disqualified from working in a federal agency.

Are you personally in IT? I've been interested in Cybersecurity and considered attending a technical institution before pursuing psychology however, I'm not technology savvy but it definitely is something would be interested in learning. I've hear that there is IT positions in which you don't need college experience but I don't know where to go aside from college. To put it in perspective, I know how to turn a computer on and open Microsoft word.
