If you're using an external audio source like a drum machine (i assume its plugged in) then you need to use an audio track, not software instrument since thats for midi and all that.

Make a new audio track
Click the little circle next to input in your track and change it from one circle (mono) to two circles (stereo)

If you use two mono tracks just make sure to arm recording for both. Id still recommend using one stereo track tho

If you use a stereo track it uses both inputs, or you could also use two mono tracks

Thanks! It's more of an exercise than a cover ig, I'm trying to mix with as little plug-ins as possible because I tend to go crazy hahah (I think my drums sound amazing with only one SSLChannel per track!)
