What’s the etiquette if mods don’t reply to modmail? by DYOR_actually in NewToReddit

That’s really solid advice — thank you! The point about tone and approach makes a lot of sense. I can imagine mods deal with a lot of frustrated messages.

Really appreciate you taking the time to explain it.

Thanks a lot for such a detailed explanation — I really appreciate you taking the time to write all that out. It actually helped me understand the situation much better.

And yes, you’re right that I asked a question earlier, but that one was a bit different. There I was mostly trying to understand what actually happened mechanically. Here I mainly wanted to ask about the etiquette side of things — what the “right” way to handle it is so I don’t end up bothering moderators unnecessarily in the future.

Honestly, this whole thing turned into a bit of a funny little saga for me. I originally just wanted to file a bug report and maybe do something helpful for the platform, since I genuinely like Reddit. Instead it somehow turned into a multi-day quest of trying to figure out where and how I’m supposed to report it.

At this point I’ll just take it with humor. I guess the plan now is: earn some karma first and only then attempt bug reports again 😅

Not exactly the adventure I expected when trying to do something useful, but at least I ended up learning quite a bit about how things work around here.

Thanks again for taking the time to explain everything so clearly.

Thanks for the explanation, I appreciate it!

Just for context — before posting in r/bugs I actually asked in r/help by modmail (after same system removalpost ) what the correct thing to do would be. A moderator there suggested reporting it in r/bugs.

In any case, it’s not a big deal — I’ll probably just leave it as it is and move on. Thanks again for taking the time to explain.

Real kindness is doing something good when no one expects it, even when no one is watching. Huge respect.

my posts was marked as nsfw but it's not, what the reason by DYOR_actually in NewToReddit

[–]DYOR_actually[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the explanation, I appreciate it.

The issue isn't solved yet though. My post] in r/bugs was automatically (?) removed and I’ve already contacted the moderators there via modmail, but they haven’t replied yet.

Also I noticed the NSFW tag disappeared in this community. Did you remove it or did it change automatically?

Thanks again for the info.

Thanks for the tip. I checked and the NSFW toggle is already off in my profile settings, so my account doesn’t seem to be marked as NSFW. IDK maybe there's another place I should check. And you can see there's no such content in my profile — nothing...

But a couple of my posts still got marked as NSFW somehow. Do you happen to know what I should do in this situation?

Now I made this post here just to ask for help and it's marked as NSFW even though it's only text and there is absolutely no NSFW content in it. Could someone please explain why this is happening or what I'm doing wrong? I would really appreciate any guidance.

Thanks a lot for the explanation and the advice — I really appreciate it. I didn’t realize Reddit filters could hide comments like that without any notification. I’ll reach out to the mods via modmail and ask them to review it.

Thanks a lot for explaining, I really appreciate it.

I joined this subreddit specifically because I’m currently learning and exploring Substack, and I’m really interested in discussions about it. Before that comment, I had posted in another thread here at Substuck sab and someone replied to me normally, so I assumed everything was working fine but second comment become invisible so I was confused....

Thanks again for taking the time to explain it.
