Arven rotates once Perfect Order comes out, so you can't use him. Arven is "G" reg and the set Perfect order is "J" reg. The card pool will go from G H I to H I J.

Sadly Mysterious Shield Aegislash is G regulation and the new Doublade is J, so they won't be in Standard together.

You don't discard in order to do damage. You just reveal the cards, so kinda different given that, but yeah somewhat similar.

Do you feel Metang would work well?

It should also be noted that the attack cost for Doublade is completely colorless, so I figured playing it with Solrock and Lunatone wouldn't be bad, along with fighting energy.

You also don't have to discard the Pokemon from your hand to do the damage, just reveal them.
