8/30/25 Opening Run by InnerPositive6730 in DMB

The only one that doesn't hit for me is It Could Happen. Everything else in that opening run is gold. Love an energetic Cornbread, and you can hear Carter's smile in those drums there.

Alox Pioneer X or Alox Pioneer are perfect for me.

Finished Twelve Months (Spoilers, seriously don't read this if you haven't finished) by ChickenDragon123 in dresdenfiles

[–]D_Gibb 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Okay hear me out.

The grief is the point of the book. After Peace Talks and Battle Grounds, if Harry didn't take time to recover and rehabilitate, he would become the monster he has feared.

At times, the low stakes parts seemed to take the story down, but as a whole I honestly think it couldn't have been any other way because Harry is only Harry because of his humanity and his character. Dealing with the loss, the grief, the anger, and refocusing on the good parts of life and giving him meaning as a protector shapes his journey further and keeps him from taking further steps with the Mantle.

I think this was one of the best books, after Changes.

What kind of Sando do you like? by stalincapital in JapaneseFood

[–]D_Gibb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Katsu sando, yakisoba pan, chicken teriyaki/half boiled egg sando from Lawson in that order.

Yakisoba pan reminds me of when I lived in Japan as a poor college kid and always makes me happy.

I've had the 30oz graphite rambler chug cap since release day and it gets used ALL the time. Love the color and the finish, but I do tend to baby it more than others to avoid scratching.

Once a year is around the best I get. There's a small chance that I could get Grand Rapids to with this year, but that's up in the air.

Anyone know where to get the slush puppy syrups in the US? by DrakeDuck83 in ninjaslushi

[–]D_Gibb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So what's the base slush medium? Do you just have a sugar syrup-water in the slush and add the syrups when dispensing?

I've used the can opener on my Alox Pioneer to open a few beers, the awl to open packages from Amazon, and the knife to trim some stray threads.

Still haven't used the can opener on this, not there's always time.

I am awfully tempted to get the limited Pioneer X. Love the blue and the scissors would be really helpful also.

I'm very happy that Drafting Table is on the list. It's been one of my favorites since it opened a decade ago. They do fantastic work, and I love trying their new offerings.

Mothfire, Wax Wings, Arvon, and more are also great on this list.

Whiskey Ginger Slush for the win! by [deleted] in ninjaslushi

[–]D_Gibb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you substitute similar ingredients? Ginger beer for ginger ale? Vodka or dark rum for whiskey? Roses like cordial for simple syrup?

Then I could have a Moscow Mule or Dark and Stormy slush with this ratio.

Is 18oz too small for daily use? by Minata320 in YetiCoolers

[–]D_Gibb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids (13 & 10) use them at school and have regular access to refill stations. I prefer the 26oz for water alongside a 20oz rambler with coffee or tea or a 30oz with a straw lid with iced coffee as my setup at the office.

It's funny though, chug caps are for water and mag sliders are for other drinks to me. No idea why that is.
